• BKB nerf

• Quelling Blade should be usable for 3 times in order to provide great juking possibilities

• Hero idea isnpired by the wc3 custom map "Slide Ninja Slide"

Guinsoo edited this map for him and his friends to have mroe balanced games. This took off to be a great idea and his map dota allstars became populair. After some while guinsoo stopped working on the map and passed it on to Icefrog. In this time it was unnknown why guinsoo stopped by now we know he decided to start working on lol. Icefrog as Well as Guinsoo had staff members and occaisionally reading through the suggestion section to see if there had been some interesting new refreshing idea's. For instance Soul Ring (suggested under the name Ring of Audacity), Vladimirs Offering, Puck have been thought up by the community and have been implemented with some minor adjustments. Every Changelog you see and there's a number after the line that number links to the thread where the suggestion came from.

• How the old dota was

Rikimaru, Lina , Chen , Sven, Drow , Furion , Batrider(lol yes he was removed later and readded again dunno why ) , Venge, Rhasta, Silencer existed back then, they are truly oldschool. Some other models were used such as Barathrum (with another name) ezalor zeus guardian wisp(which was named "GOD" back then) and so on were used as models but had different class name/skills.

Lina and Rhasta are the only heroes that have exactly the same skills as they do now (except lina's ultimate which gave attack speed is changed now to fiery soul but thats a detail!~)

Barathrum aka Astral Trekker back then has Ensnare(naga's web) that lasts 10 seconds (lol) and an aoe stun that lasts 6 seconds.
Riki's blink has 1 sec cd at max lvl (Like on WC campainings)
He has critical strike skill thats like mortred's ultimate(but is a normal skill), also he has some trap and his name is Ryu Hayabusa i believe thats from DOA (The game)
Sven's Cleave is 95%, he has 9 armor aura and his stun lasts 6 seconds while his ulti does 40.

Also the creeps are Pucks and some other wolf thingies while scoruge are leoric and atropos , but sent/scourge creeps dont have same stats (which is silly)

No wonder old dota was never famous huh? It seems pretty imbalanced , i wonder if anyone that still plays dota has ever played dota the absolutely first version (i have no clue what is it) but once i did a small search 0.96 was the oldest i could find

other than that, it must exist a way to easily distinguish one team from the other, in the same way you can just by looking differentiate terrorists from CT's in CS. and finally, a system of narrator and commentator would make it easy to non-players to watch

This way the recent XP buffes for doublelanes (nerfes for trilanes) would be executed, since the trilanes ALWAYS give lower XP no matter if you run away or die before your carry kills.

This, IMHO, is what's making the game overly defensive these days, not any particular hero, item, or set of the above.
I'm about ready to call for buybacks being seriously nerfed
- maybe only halving your remaining respawn time, or something like that.
In their current state, even with the increased cost, they just make too big a difference.

I expect that farming would have worked almost as well in many of the gank-dominated older versions.

• Ice Drifter

http://www.playdota.com/forums/36066...s-ice-drifter/

Icicles
Quote:
Skaris sends out 3 Icicles that rotate about each other as they travel. They damage any units they hit. Any units that are hit become Icy, and will become frozen when they attack or cast when sliding on ice
- That is realy confusing, when you read it before the second skill.
I thought at first "why are they sliding on ice?!" "where does the ice come from??"

- You wrote "deals xx dps"
Why dps? dps=damage per second.
In the testmap, the damage was dealt only once, or am I blind?

Northrend Frost
Count allied heroes or enemy heroes or both?

Snowball
I realy like that, but it is a problem that it moves your opponents away.
In a realgame this is very bad.

Every stun and disable (in dota) has one task:
Hold done the enemy OR pull the enemy back.
Almost no skill moves your enemy away.
There are only few exceptions, that COULD be used this way, but those are intended to pull the enemies in your direction instead of pushing them away.

[The only skills I know for now, which could move your enemy away are:
force staff, glimpse, x mark, vacum, swap, invoker has one skill I dont know the name of.]

All theses skills normally pull your enemies back or hold them down, you wont find a skill that can be ONLY used to push your enemies away, because its bad.

My Suggestions:
The direction of snow ball has to be changerd, so the snowball moves towards "ice drifter".
Then we have a perfect synergy with northrend frost and iceskating.

Additionally I would change ice skating, in a way that enemy heroes are not able to change the direction they are heading (like in the custommap you mentioned at the beginning)

Edit:
Then you could use Snowball to initatie the movement of your enemies in your direction, and cast Ice skating somewhere at the end of the path of snowball, and your enemies glide on the ice to you

Edit2:
Then you could change northrend frost into something that helps you when you moved 5 enemy heroes in your direction, and casted "Icicles" on them.
I would suggest "adds damage to your base damage, depending on how many (enemy) heroes are on the ice."

I would remove or change the bonus ms for allied heroes in this casse

"skating ice" could be renamed into "frozen ground" - "ice ground" - "ice surface" - "frozen surface"

• prediction of 6.70

It comes in the next 9 days (with today), before 23.12.
I think at 18/19. but this is hard to say, while I am pretty sure that it will come before 23.

Heroes
- wr basedmg reduce or her "arrow" (2nd ability) damage will be reduced a bit
- bat str nerf
- doc nerf (one ability, stun/heal/maledict)
- linas spells damage increase, sth like +20 per lvl
- svens stun a bit nerfed esp earlygame

Items
- stick nerf of what one charge gives
- hood nerf - cloak cost by 100-200 incresae

Gameplay
- tp nerf (channel dutations esp when 2 people teleport)
- maybe removed wards and added a "view map for x seconds" but more likely wards will be nerfed
- buyback nerf

Coming probably soon (but most likely not in 6.70)
- farmgold nerf (I think he plans to do that but it will not come this version)
- katatpults nerf
