I wrote this for my steam profile considering I rarely use PD anyway but given the character limits there and given the fact that PD is after all where I spent the most DotA related time at, it'd be fitting for this to be here.

I know what I want, now. And that's a big deal. Chances are that you won't see me around much. I will come find you if I liked you, so no worries there.

But,

If you like(d) me and think I like(d) you and would want to stay in touch but you are going to quit steam, you should leave a comment on my profile where you mention a reliable way to reach you.

I will (try to) check my profile once every week or so and other than when I am trying to find a specific person, that's the only time I plan to be on this (or any) platform for the foreseeable future. I am discontinuing use of every other platform that you may have in common with me so if you don't leave me a way to reach you but quit steam or PD, you'll be effectively turning yourself away from me. I wouldn't like that if I liked you but if I do indeed like you, I will find you, just that it'd be a bit of a hassle and I may no longer like you.

I can recall memorable moments with each and everyname I listed and I am sure I forgot (I didn't recall that long list off my memory alone but most of the research into old replays I did ended up amounting only to crosschecking) many more names and I didn't list the ones that I could remember but couldn't recall a particularly "oomph" moment with. It'd appear that my time in DotA wasn't as much of a waste as the dramatic whiner in me sometimes makes out to be. I met so many people! And in all honesty, had lots and lots of fun.

Therefore, very very special thanks to IceFrog for making DotA for all these years.

Thanks also to everybody in the old DA mechanics section and most of the old DA and PD members.

There are very few people who know me here without DotA. Thanks to you guys nonetheless.

Now for the really personal stuff:

I am much grateful to Uchiha_Sasuke (and this one guy I can't recall the name of for the love of my life), Perco, Ghuy, Wutwat and Min Thar Steals for playing quite a few 1v1 games with me that frankly taught me more DotA than anything ever did and were among the most fun things in this game. And big "boos" for all those elitist fuckers who want -apsh 1v1 SF everytime they think of 1v1.

Thanks specifically to Atsoca, AWT, Caki, Wutwat and Ghuy for pubbing as a couple with me. Was a lot of fun.

Thanks to George, Moe, Louis and Xeqn for being the only semblance of an actual team I actually played some semblance of competitive DotA with. I didn't put any effort whatsoever in but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

Thanks to Moja, Atsoca, Ghuy, Robzor, and Soletluna for being solid people to play DotA with that didn't once whine back to me about the game. You guys are the true champions of DotA.

Yes this is a Quitting DotA post and yes this is only the upteenth attempt. But this one is going through ^^. If and whenever I play this game again, it will be extremely casually and for no more reason than it being a popular game.

Farewell, DotA. I wish you godspeed.

For some random reason - and completely ignoring the fact that I am supposed to be doing something entirely else - I feel like playing DotA despite all the bad feelings it makes me feel. I am gonna try and play some games as nicely as I possibly could ... maybe I can find a way to play this game without giving in to feeling cynical because of it? Fingers crossed ...


Update: ... DotA games lol. I barely finished a game out of near 5 tries. ...

The reason I left PDIH isn't because of this or that that happened earlier today or any day in particular. I left it because I have been feeling uneasy at the place for a while, mostly because it's nothing like the place it was envisioned as and/or used to be, and because I could use some time off the place. It also doesn't help that the amount of fun I get from the game of DotA is at a record low. It was a long time coming and I don't want to make it appear as though it was one specific incident because it wasn't. It only made me actually do it and if anything, I am thankful for it.

No hard feelings to anyone. Please do enjoy your stay in PDIH as long as possible, it has some nice people and nice games here and there aren't all that infrequent either.

I have played with many a players before and probably played far too much DotA than healthy (actually, make that definitely so). So I have come across players I loved and hated and I have found many a players that play a style somewhat similar to mine at times or at least a style I could associate with but this man atsoca is the only one I can say with 100% confidence that he runs on the same frequency as I do when it comes to DotA :s

But I am going to pretty much quit all this hardcore DotA now. So it was especially fun this last night to play seven or so games with atsoca and cfranzc, two espaniols. And pretty much the only reason I am writing a blog post other than myself being especially tired and all that crap. If and when I do find time to play DotA again, and it can't possibly be enough to do something like this again, I hope to have as much fun >.>

Replays for whoever wants to see some NO FEAR aggressive stuff. Also, we try innovative stuff and aren't half bad, if I dare say so myself. And for a change, most opponents aren't half bad either.
