Good day Guardsmen and Shieldmaidens of The Unguided!
Today is certainly a glorious day for adventure. And what an adventure indeed! We’ve been somewhat silent since the Pledge Music campaign reached its goal which is however, in whatever angle you look at it, a huge milestone in this band’s carrier! To pull off such a gamble operation like that was corroborative to the limit. We are so proud of what we managed to achieve together with you, the fans. The video will be fantastic!

As we’ve been sitting on a lot of secrets lately we can gladly reveal that the video we are looking to record will be “Betrayer of the Code”. We are aware of the fact that a lot of you have very… ehm dynamic(?) taste not to say the least. So that was sure one hell frosty hard decision to make. But it looked like the majority of the fans wanted BOTC as the second video of HF and also we thought in a public sense it was important to project the somewhat more “harder” side of The Unguided, since “Phoenix Down” was fairly accessible. Not to mention the song is a favorite within the band as well.

As most of you know when it comes to us; silent does not mean unproductive. Rather the reverse! We’ve been so busy, that we’ve been running on a 48 hours a day schedule! So what do we actually have in store for you more concrete? Well, we figured since the “Hell Frost” era is coming to an end and we’ve been starting to work on the follow-up album, what could possibly be a more fitting era ender than to slam the door behind us with some brute force?

We present to you; “Deathwalker”! This little bastard son is an extraordinary collaboration between Peter Johansson (Ex-Pandora), Triple Ace Game’s Paul "Wiggy" Wade-Williams and The Unguided. The song was originally intended as the 12th track of “Hell Frost”, but since we ran out of time we figured we can’t find a more perfect opportunity than now to release it. The song was originally written by Peter Johansson, which is a close friend to the band. The Unguided and Pontus Hjelm (Dead By April) have twisted and turned it into a fitting monstrosity to the act however. The lyrics are based out from a story written by Wiggy and his “HellFrost” roleplaying game. The song will let the listener undertake a journey to the world of Rassilon and acquaint one self with an ancient evil force which is growing worriedly impatient in his tomb. Cover artwork once again made by the Spanish artist J.A.Aranguren (Eden Fire, BOTC, ITE, PD among others.) The song is very different from the rest of the album and got a huge “Eden Fire” presence to it according to people that have heard the raw mix. We’ll see what you think!
How do we deliver this then?! Well, we learnt that a lot of you people really appreciated the pre-production version of “Phoenix Down” and to get a direct view of how the songs have developed and been tweaked from their demo stage to its full fledged production. Also the instrumental version was extremely attractive to fans doing their very own vocal covers and such. And since we put a lot of time and effort into the pre-production scenario of “Hell Frost”, why not show our hand and bring you a unique paper single for all the 12 tracks including the normal version, pre-production version as well as instrumental version. There will be other goodies on some singles as well including the “Phoenix Down” video and also the highly appreciated “Zardonic Remix” for example. All of the 12 CD’s will be ornamented with its own artwork done by various artists we’ve been working with during our time in The Unguided. All this is placed in a neat collector’s box which goes under the name “Hell Frost - The Ultimate Collection”. We consider this a fitting end for such an awesome production as “Hell Frost” as we take on new challenges and the highly anticipated sequel album. This edition will be strictly limited to 919 (TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN LIKE A BAWS!).

The box will also include 2 bonus CD’s. Since we know we screwed up with the “Phoenix Down – Ascent of the Ice Phoenix” delivery (or well, we didn’t but the manufacturer for the necklaces delayed it for weeks and we’d like to take full responsibility for this inconvenience.) We promised we’ll do something to patch up those wounds so with this box you will also get 2 extra CD’s to go with it. One of them being a 3 track DODGE (Roland’s other band) EP called “New Day” and the other one being an 8 track album entitled “Under the Demon Wings” featuring all the up and comings bands RICHARD SJUNNESSON have featured with his guest vocals during 2011-2012. Consider this extra a little gift from us to you!

There are two options; one with only the box (including 14 CDs) and one with the box + “Deathwalker” t-shirt and “The Unguided” textile logo patch.

Though the band is a mere whisper of it's former self, the legends, Roland Johansson (departed in 2009) and Richard Sjunnesson (departed in 2010) have reunited, and they bring forth The Unguided.

The Unguided is a melodic death metal trio from Falkenberg, Sweden. It consists of former Sonic Syndicate vocalists Richard Sjunnesson and Roland Johansson, as well as current Sonic Syndicate guitarist Roger Sjunnesson. The band was put together following Richard's departure from Sonic Syndicate. He had at first revealed that he is starting a new project with his brother Roger and another person, but his identity was not revealed until 26 November when Richard posted a video on his blog.
