Default [Remake]Silence (DrowRanger)


Reason :
-Silence was overused by Death Prophet who is an original and epic witch with fitting theme.
-An area-of-effect silencing spell claimed to be used by a "RANGER" from the Drow race doesn't seems fit thematically.


Therefore I present you a brand new remake while keeping the main property of the spell :

Promptitude Cut
By dashing forward with great agility, Traxex was able to perform a bleeding cut to all enemy around her, dealing damage while causing them to be silenced.

19018secUp to 4001251secDeal 80dmg and silence.
29017secUp to 5001502secDeal 140dmg and silence.
39016secUp to 6001753secDeal 200dmg and silence.
49015secUp to 7002004secDeal 260dmg and silence.
  • Enemy passes through by Traxex or within the dashing aoe will be affected.
  • Can be used to destroy trees and pass through cliff.
  • You may aimed at any desire location but it will only bring you until the pointed coordinate.

Especially due to the very low AoE....

dashes through an area of enemy :P well, at least you dont have to be a coward now... FIGHT FOR OUR HOME, SPARTAN D: actually the original AOE was just 275 and the remake of this spell can make drow more versatile rather than a right click hero with a not-so-funneh silence.

In general, the spell seems nice and fits her theme, I think. Slow the enemy, dash past him while silencing and damaging. Could improve chasing, help her escape etc.

But in order to silence several enemies at once you have to find a spot where you can dash through all of them, which means severely endangering yourself. Usually you want to stay outside of the action. I'm not sure, although it is a nice idea.

seems more fitting to silence/dmg then jump backwards like a reversed potm leap.

Doesn't really seem to fit with how a smart drow should play. Sit back and kite. Silence to prevent them from closing the distance.

this is exactly what i mean, by sacrificing the previous long-range casting, you have to dash in on the correct timing thus increase the playability of drow ranger.

So here's my point, sacrifice longer range silence inexchange with escaping mechanism, chasing mechanism, relocation mechanism + damaging mechanism while slightly reducing the silenced aoe. So, if you still prefer the previous edition just for the sake of longer range casting, it's just like saying the previous CriticalStrike fit better than RipTide on NagaSiren. o.O No? You think of it.

I think you kindda misunderstood the casting of the the new one, you do not dash in just like a boss when everyone is waiting for you to do so right? Wait for the correct timing as mentioned before. It's just unfair to say we give AM a blink to let him blink in the crowd and die like a man.

Ye well, using it as escape mechanism decreases your viability in clashes since you save your silence to get the fuck out instead of using it to silence them. Also she is ranged and has tons of advantages over plenty of melee carry heroes (ursa, troll, jugger) who do not have blink

I think you've missed the whole point of Drow Ranger being Drow "Ranger". Drow never wants to be close to enemy heroes. Never.
You have nothing to offer when close to the enemy, that you don't already at a range, except for being attacked. Drow has 625 attack range for a reason. And while the original silence offers 3-6 seconds of silence, meaning that its viable to take one or two levels for it to be useful, you've exchanged that for 1-4 seconds which means unless its maxed or level 3, that silence isn't going to be much use anyway.
Offensively, it is much worse, as while Drow can rip apart melee heroes with the existing silence and her arrows to slow their movement avoid avoiding attacks, this proposed remake rushes Drow in for underwhelming damage and placing her measly Hit points up for opponents to take down.
While it could be used defensively, to "relocate" yourself as you will. This somewhat defeats the purpose of the silence and damage.

In short, please read hero descriptions on this website as "A good Archer will keep their distance, kiting an enemy in constant barrage, never letting them get dangerously close, and Traxex can achieve just that." Your skill is a direct contradiction to that and not even a good one.

I suggested one like this before and now I think escape mechanism for drow should be some invisibility stuff and not dashing around.

And true a Drow rushing into enemies to silence them is purposeless. She need to move away to attack and the silence wears off and enemies cast spells and she's dead.

Or dash and attack before she can finish the enemies they will finish her first since her Hp is low like shit.
