THIS IS A "HOW TO PUB WHIT SNIPER"

If u want to play sniper THE FIRST THING THAT U HAVE TO REALIZE is this:

1) Is my team composed of 2 carrys already and i should be a retard and pick a 3rd useless/afk.farming like sniper?

2) My team have enought stuns/slows to stop enemyes so i can hit them? We have a initiator than can protectme from enemy fire so i can shoot freely and not get instagibbed in 2 seconds?

3) I have almost perfect lasthit whit sniper?

4) Did the enemy just pick 4 blinkers? (True story)

If your answers are:

1) No.
2) Yes. Yes.
3) Yes.
4) No.

Then u can pick sniper.



SKILL BUILD

First level take headshot for harras/lasthit
Second, take aim
Third, take aim
Four, pellets
Five, pellets
Six, Ultimate
Seven, pellets
Eight, pellets.
Max take aim/get ultimate when needed
Max headshot/whatever left

STARTING ITEMS AND BUILD UP:

Ring of protection, tango, healing salve, fill whit branches

Upgrade to basilus.
Get PHASEBOOTS.
Upgrade to aquila
Finish wand
Bracer
Upgrade to jangoo.

Yasha/Manta or BKB or S&Y or Maelstrom/Mjolnir
Cristalys/Buriza or Mkb

Skady is bad, u have enought stats from aquila/janggo, for lategame is better have more dps.

Luxurys: What ever left.

Reasons:

*IMB4 movespeed for escaping/chasing
*Enought stats and mana regen for spamming pellets and using ultimate
*Survival upgraded over 9000. Once i outrun a entire 5 man team after the initial stuns (Activate FIRST janggo, SECOND phaseboots, and run)

HOW TO LANE:

* Lasthit and deny EVERY creep.
* Harras enemy when possible.
* Watch Minimap every 15 secs or less and see if some enemy is missing

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF.....

* I face a enemy nuker like lion/lina/tinker etc?

Get a bracer first, so u dont get instagibbed. Watch your position. Bring salves/tangos whit chicken and keep your HP up.

* Enemy leaves lane to push another tower AND u see them in minimap?

Spam pellets to damage his tower/creeps. Activate basilus/aquila. PAY ATTENTION TO MINIMAP, IF ENEMY DISSAPEAR FROM MINIMAP GTFO FAST BECAUSE THEY ARE COMING FOR YOUR ASS.

* 3 man trying to push my tower?

Spam pellets close to your tower and hide into the trees or retreat to second tower. Use your ultimate for weaken low hp enemyes to make them fear.
If ur allyes come to help you, then try to fight enemyes back.
If you are alone, just spam pellets and retreat, if the tower falls is your team fault for not helping to defend.

* Got ganked?

The fog is your ally. If u have jangoo, use it first, THEN use phaseboot and outrun them. Dont use phaseboot first because gets canceled when u use other skills.

* My wave is pushed and i dont want to be ganked in enemy tower?

If you have some mana to spare, go and use pellets in some neutral camp and kill them. Try to kite as much as possible so u avoid losing health.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN MID GAME?

Help your team to push and destroy towers whit your pellets.

Help your team to defend towers whit your pellets.

Weak enemyes whit "no regen/low regen hp" whit your ultimate.

Kill fleeing enemyes whit your ultimate

Use your janggo for helping chasing/escaping

Farm when possible.

FREQUENLY ASKED QUESTIONS (OR FAQ):

THIS GUIDE IS STUPID, WHY NO ADVICE IN LOTHARS (AKA: SHADOW BLADE) OR DIVINE?

Lothars takes too much time to get and for the time that u get it, you got ganked like a zillion times.

Divine is only possible when u have a team that is ONLY devoted to protect your fragil and puny sniper.

WHY I SHOULD MAX PELLETS FIRST?

Pellets is your skill for killing towers/defending, should i say more?

WHY NOT AFK FARM UNTIL MIN 50?

No afk farm because your partners will have to play 4v5 all the game. And this is a pub game for fuck sake, you will get stomped.

SHOULD I GET SOLO MID?

This depends, if you can outlane your enemy and someone in your team can come and gank and kill the mid, then yes.
Otherwise, get the safe lane whit some stuner/ally that can help you in case of gank (NO OTHER CARRY PLEASE, well maybe only your best dota friend whit Void) (another True story, epic win game)
The mid lane is better left to someone that can get early levels and gank the sh1t out of your enemy. Sniper should NOT gank, he needs to farm and defend his tower, tping to another tower and using pellets to defend in case that his team need him.

After a lot of game testing, i just came to the conclusion that your point is valid.

Phase boots +MoM works better than treads+mom. The increased damage is VERY good for lasthit/harras in the first 10 minutes of the game, and the increased movespeed is better to escape, than the increased HP pool. Also when u activate MOM, the DPS seems bigger when having the bonus damage of phase boots.

Also, i been testing something used in VERY old dota (like version 48).

Basher.

Yes. After trying the DPS outcome of phase+mom+cristalis/basher, they do the same effect. And whit MoM activated, i ALWAYS get at least 1 stun to the enemy. And the increased strenght gives some plus survival.

So, for me, my core today is:

Phase boots, Basilus/Aquila, MoM, Basher.

Extensions: Buriza (BIG dps increase), butterfly (if too many rightclickers in enemy), Skady (if needed more hp and a permanent slow)

Basic style of play:

0-10 mins of game=> Lasthit lasthit lasthit. Harras if possible. Go safe lane, or middle (take middle ONLY if you are a demigod in lasthit, always leave mid to better ones like invoker etc) Do NOT risk yourself. Go for kill only if you have all the odds of winning. Avoid death, you need to survive this stage or be useless all rest of game.

11-20/25 mins=>Farm safe lanes, and when you get MoM, FLASHFARM JUNGLE. Avoid fighting, only if all your team is there, and remember to enter last the fight. Dont chase alone, if you cannot get the lasthit whit your ultimate then DONT CHASE. Its a waste of time and you may get killed.
Farm farm farm.

Rest of game=> Farm when possible, fight when needed to defend/all team is pushing. Dont go for solo kills.

This week i will try dagger/forcestaff and post the results. From my point of view forcestaff seems a waste of money, but i will try it anyway. Dagger otherwise may be good in some situations, when u need to recover the range losed when enemy comes to melee range.


Rejected items:
S&Y => In paper may be good, but whit the increased speed of phase+MoM is not needed, and the maim is a shitty disable. Basher gives more damage, and when MoM gets activated its 100% that u would get at least 1 bash to the enemy.
Dominator => Only if you are in lategame and getting satanic. MoM allows you to flashfarm jungle and gives a HUGE dps. If you are getting nuked/focused/hurt you are doing it wrong. Sniper should WAIT behind all his team (hidden in fog if possible), and only appear to fight after all the big AOE ultimates are dropped.

My build have enought stats from aquila+jangoo+manta/sys, so skady is only good for the slow, but gives only +25 damage. Its better a mkb in that case, the ministuns stop/slow enemyes and the damage output is x2 almost.

This is the definition of "not a pub".
So basically your pub guide to sniper says: don't play him in pubs.

You can always pick before ur teammates, and if they pick 2 more carryes, is his fault not yours.

Skadi is part of my build, which is (at late late game and without counting divine buys) :

- Boots Of Travel
- Manta Style / Butterfly (depends on the team)
- Black King Bar
- Eye Of Skadi
- Buriza / Monkey King Bar (most of the time Buriza because of it's late game scaling dps which is just superior to MKB if there is non-evasion based hero/item in the opposing team)
- Satanic

I seriously think Eye Of Skadi is essential on Sniper after getting Dominator+Crystalis.

And to those who build Mask Of Madness, Stygian, Mjollnir, Orchid, Diffusal or anything in the likes are not playing him as he should be, he's a real hard carry not a jack of all shit.
