What's with Samsung dominating the phone marke?

I know it has been quite some time since Samsung gets (really) popular, but what's the reason behind it? Is it really because the great specs, or just hype and bandwagons?

In my theory, when the tablet were just about to get huge, Samsung released Galaxy Tab, which is a nice option against iPad's price, and probably people who don't want to bandwagon on iPad's madness. There wasn't much choices during that time, and it does have an attractive design. It goes on with the bandwagon afterwards.

Because Android >>> any other phone OS at the moment. And Samsung has best for buck Android phones available on market at the moment.

They are able to pump out the updated phones on a very regular occurrence giving buyers lots of choice and constant new update features. Apple puts out a new phone once a year? Blackberry has put nothing really new on the market for over a year. Who is Nokia again? Nobody could tell from their marketing or lack thereof.

No wonder Samsung is taking charge

Android is the best OS. And Samsung's hardware is ahead of Apple hardware for less of the price.

Let me put it this way: iPhone owner here and I deeply regret my decision to make that purchase. I might get my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S3 when it's released as I really enjoyed playing with my friend's SGS2.

Out of the 2011 phones, iPhone 4S still was commonly ranked second only behind Samsung Galaxy S2, and possessed the most powerful GPU in phones around that time.
