He didn't recognise the comedic value of the series. And he failed to see he was in the right place when he didn't notice that most critics were praising the show development.
Too bad he took so long to be booted. If it was earlier, maybe Dan Harmon would be still in. Not saying the show can't succeed without him, but past all his issues with authority, self-hatred and interpersonal skills, he had the true objective of the show right in his mind all along.
