Default alternate attack animation


there is 'alternate' animation for some ( or all ? ) heroes. animation used on attack is random or it depends on exact amount of damage dealt ?

At random. And some use another animation for Bash/Crit/Demolish/Other attack modifiers.

afaik, the alternate attack animation is used at random, and the demolish animation is used for quelling blade attacks, criticals(jugger only?(no)), cleave and anchor smash(tide).

razor has one(he swings his stick horizontally sometimes)
I think also drow has 2 attack animations, with the bow being at different angle

The only real ranged unit (that is not used as a melee unit in ladder) and has an alternate attack animation is Prophet.

The alternate attack animation is used for Bash, Critical Strike, Cleave, Demolish, and Pulverize.

Yes. The damage point isn't influenced by the visual.

i really dont like the different attack animations.. well early game atleast in late game when the last hitting is not that important its much better. but in early game for some1 like phantom lancer like some of his animations like the stab are good but theres no way of telling when hes gonna do it.Well the best example of a bad attack animation is clinkz... for gods sake its allmost impossible to get last hits with him it will allways get denied

Can you please read what i wrote? The animation played is in no way related to the timing of the projectile coming out. You could give Clinkz a 0 damage point and the missile would appear once he starts the attack. But that would look ugly (missile comes out as soon as he raises his bow, not when he actually fired).
