Only 3 from the end of the list of heroes realise. Valve and icefrog seem to hate those three little dudes (mb they too hard for them). Even the new heroes will appear earlier in Dota 2. Techies were top thirty characters added in DotA, and now they are trying to forget them as useless thing. But DotA would not be DotA without them. They are the heart and soul of the game.

A nice way to deter enemies from chasing you is to, as you are running, shift queue a mine along ur path of escape. Enemies will see it and won't want to walk straight over it. They will either run around, giving you more of a lead, or stop chasing you entirely. If they don't it creates an opportunity for a counter gank. This works especially well running thru jungle with more chokes/blindspots.

Also: need him in dota2 ASAP pls valve!! ^-^
