That's why I don't at all play against random people.
I mean seriously, bringing Magikarp into a team isn't exactly thrilling.

everytime I try to get back into pokemon by playing the newest game to come out, I quit by the 5th gym.

I just don't have patience like I used to.

That's unfortunate. Looking at the situation, I would most likely attribute it to the lack of passion. Playing through a pokemon game shouldn't take more than a week anyway.

I still play Pokemon. Been playing since Red/Blue, and still play the current ones(Black/White). I have been to a couple of Tournaments myself. Btw, there's one coming up on November 12-13. The Pokemon VGCs.

For a lot of crappy reasons I can't play the advanced generations. Pc is too shitty to use desmume, while no$gba is filled with crashes and anti hack.
@jegretis: it's hard for me to get back in the metagame, because of the unreasonably comp uninducing habit of mine. And I barely know gen 4-5, ended up losing to a terakion every game.

You do realize that the first gen was the gloomiest right? No color, dark secrets, gives me chills everytime I replay them.

Non-competetively, the game is really swell.
Challenge mode and the World Tournament are sweet stuff.
