I love how noobs say Techies is a bad hero.
I love how noobs think that Gem is a counter to Techies
Nothing can counter a good techie player... Techie is just an annoying hero.
But doesn't work in high skill games though for many reasons, i wont talk about it now.
But good Techies fucking owns pubs.

There are a lot of competitive people starting to use techies simply because of his ability to completely disrupt the other team. Early game they have to constantly invest in wards/dust and if you frustrate them enough, they will go for a gem. That's 700 gold, and a massive cool down to re-buy it. If they go for Necro book 3 just for the purpose of getting true sight, then you've screwed their build quite a bit. It's a very frustrating hero to play against as you're constantly wary of pushing, roaming, or ganking. Once I got used to playing techies it was kind of boring to play other heroes simply because of the insane amount of planning required with tech to be successful. Most other heroes are in-the-moment type play. Techies is kind of like playing chess. I really love them. You should check out my other replays. I think like 90% of replays I have are techies. :P
