If you think Invoker is not easy to play...then my god you either have:
1. Short term memory loss 2. Lack of general DotA knowledge, I mean the basics. 3. 8-14 APM 4. All of the above

invoker is easy to play in the same way that every hero is easy to play, cause there's only 1 important unit to control most of the time with a limited number of skills to consider. But relatively, hes hard to play, and you can definitely see he difference between a good invoker and a great invoker

I went 5-0-4 the first time I played alchemist, therefore he is imba and needs to be nerfed. My logic is infallible and I demand that you all agree with me.

A hero is easy to play in a sense that he has to used in a less efficient way than other heroes to achieve better results. Hence, Invoker is easy to play simply because he's pretty god damn strong. |

...Invoker is easy. He isn't hard to play, he can be a pain to use "correctly", but even the most derpy of players can play a specific build and rape.

Hmm it just bends my mind, because the timing for empnado-combo is dependant on the level of Wex AND Quas on Invoker. But then again I would probably now prefer to use EMP at advantageous places where the enemy has to make a decision: take the emp damage+burn or run out of it but get into a disadvantageous situation and just not combo it with Tornado directly.

anyone can sit in fog and throw tornades or click cold snap and thats all you need to make a presence with invoker. hero is a perfect example of the power creep in dota.

The hardest part about playing invoker is that you are not allowed to fail.

You all talk about how easy it is to play Invoker with 2-3 spells, but that's not how a real Invoker is played. A real invoker uses all spells that make sense instead of using only a fraction of his potential.
Annoying? Yes, definitely. Overpowered? To some extend. Easy? No, not if you want to play him correctly.

This is all well and good, but do the people who make the balance patches agree? Last time he was patched, his emp got nerfed and his exort spells got buffed. Otherwise, he's always been strong, and icefrog doesn't seem to mind. Why is that?

Statistically, Invoker is underpowered. His win rate is below 50%.

Whoops, wrote a fairly big post then lost it. Oh well. Basically, came down to this:
Invoker's got an easy early game with free tangos/easy last hitting, easy early/mid game with great mobility and escape mechanisms when ganks start happening, easy mid/late game with powerful and relatively easy to use spells. Choosing what spells to use isn't hard - use your spells that you have points in earlier on (about 3-4), and then use everything when you've got Scepter and the mana later on. Invoker's spells are not that hard to use. They've got fantastic range/AoE/damage, and there are fairly simple combos to make the somewhat harder to land spells, land. (EMP, Ice Wall, Meteor etc.) Even if you miss a Cold Snap or Tornado or something, you still have many spells in reserve. There is no "ult" you can miss, no Black Hole you have to obsess over landing properly and not getting interrupted, no positioning at a crucial moment to worry much about. Disclaimer: I am about 60-30 with Invoker, and love playing him. I just feel a little guilty that he's a bit of a pub-stompy hero that isn't that difficult to play once you get past the mechanical barrier-of-entry. |

I played him once or twice in dota 1, i was able to cast most of his spells in dota 2. I am not even good with him and it is way too effective.
I am not saying he is easier than most heroes. He is just not as hard as people make him to be. |
