He will fade into invisibility, but remain seen as long as the duration of hex isn't up.
That's what I think it is. Many times I've experienced this, lol.

Hex only prevents invisibility from a Permanent Invisibility based skill. If the target is fading into invisibility via a WW or an Invisibility based skill then you will not see him unless you have True Sight.

just to add as a sidenote:
the animation will still be shown when the hexed unit returns back to normal so it's a good indicator where the invisible unit is at this moment. |
