Troll and chain lighting

May i ask something silly?
why maelstrom's and mjollnir's passive chain lighting doesn't stack with troll?
I know is an orb effect but why it isn't stacking?

EDIT

i mean that if you buy a maelstrom (or mjollnir) to troll (even with no other items) it never works.Is a way to make it work in plain english?

(i'm playing just 3 months and i'm trying to learn as much as possible)

It is orb of slow based, so you have to issue an attack-command for Maelstrom and Mjollnir to proc.

And, it would be good if you give more information about your issue, as your statements are very ambigious.

SoletLuna is right, just give an attack command (a-click on the ground works as well).

Patrol and Aggressive move also works.

No. ORB EFFECTS DO NOT STACK.

i thought it would just life steal every time the lightening doesnt activate (depending on which orb you picked up last)

Actually, I've used troll alot (one year out of the one and a half that i have been playin). I made a build that helps me alot most of the time. I use Maelstrom/Mjollnir with vlads

the only way this can stack is if you equip mjol while in ranged mode (getting the ranged version) then putting on vlads in melee mode. this makes it so that when troll attacks, he gets lifesteal except when Chain Lightning procs.

I have not seen CL not proc on any attack. it even procs on autoattack this way.

not sure about the mechanics part (even though this is the mech forum) but im saying all this just from experience.

I had strange procs with maelstrom and Troll too. Sometimes it don't procs for several waves? Is there a bug with the range/melee skill?

Vlad's lifesteal is an aura, not an orb effect. And the lifesteal doesn't work for ranged units.

Also mael then its upgrade are the same for melee and ranged units

then my prev post may just count as a suggestion for those who use troll mostly as melee and want the lifesteal+CL stack.

Didn't you, by any chance, get Helm of the Dominator or other lifesteal orb effect at the same time??

i tried several times to take HotD and maelstrom/mjollnir but only lifesteal was working...

Orb effects do not stack
Buff placers do not stack
