Default Happiest countries.

When I think about what is the most important thing in the world - Happiness stands as the worlds simple most important and telling thing.

It is the end of everything.

Happiness is given by health, stability, wealth, family and friends. It is what makes us better and more.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/christop..._medium=social

Scandinavia does it again.

We do something very special.

A lot of trust, a lot of caring, a lot of innovation, and a lot of efficiency.

Best regards,

Audacious.

I'm never totally convinced by these, as i am never sure how you can measure absolute happiness, i understand measuring relative happiness, but not absolute.

I think the most important aspect of happiness is being given a legitimate chance to succeed in life.

It is measured like this.

Those 8 categories and very neatly explained.

We certainly have that. If you check the text for Denmark it says:

"A view of Copenhagen. Denmark ranked 2nd overall for the fourth consecutive year. The nation placed 1st for Entrepreneurship and Opportunity and 2nd in Social Capital. "

"A poll released Wednesday of nearly 150,000 people around the world says seven of the world's 10 countries with the most upbeat attitudes are in Latin America."

I mean, wtf? So if the rest of the world says North Korea is happy, then they are? A little more science and data thank you.

Forbes isn't Scandinavian? And this study is done from UN/world bank Data. It is as legit as it gets. Tested and done by as many people as possible. Very easy to do one self and the data aren't suggestive.

What exactly do you mean? I am not sponsoring Forbes and the data has nothing to do with forbes. It is the UN.

They asked people how happy they were from 1- 10 then multiplied it with their life expectancy, divided with their ecological footprint.

I like it, because it gives poor countries a relative advantage.

I certainly think we can critique "my" list for not having the ecological footprint. But I wouldn't say happiness is = equal with how little CO2 you produce.

Hilarious with Iraq at 36.

Netherlands is 8, but I'm not Dutch in origin I'm Italian and I know that place sucks hence why I'm here.

Anyway I don't really care about happiness lol. Quoted from there "Luxembourg is the healthiest nation on Earth. Iceland is the safest. Switzerland has the world’s best economy and governance, according to Legatum." this is more important than happiness. To me anyway.

Edit: Though Vatican has some artifacts which can't be bought with world's wealth, just saying.

Hm, expected Switzerland and Austria to be much higher on that list. Still, for the most part, the list's not surprising at all.

forbes is a more reliable source for me. also forbes didn't rank the usa on top and even admit it's decline of happiness so the sponsor has nothing to do with faking the results on that one.

I'm not calling fake calls on anything; I just think forbes puts too much weight on someones financial situation to determine their happiness (of cooouursee!!) and in the end of the day I see a list with the wealthier, more stable countries.

On a different note, the stress factor should play a major role here, and the US ranked 12 is laughable in my opinion; I've been there btw (doesn't prove anything, ikr).

it refers to happiness in general. I think there is some point there, when you live healthier lives, breath fresher air, less natural disasters, no wars, beautiful views, smiling people, human rights, good education and stable politics.

Malaysia will easily make the list if it had a great government, better education and much less racism+religious shit btw.

I have never been to Japan before, is it a sad place or what? just asking.

Oh shit!

Bill Gates -

"It would be nice if all governments were as rational as the Nordic governments - reaching compromise and providing services broadly. The Economist had a nice special section on this last week. Africa governments have often been weak but you can't write a check to change that. Fortunately the average quality is going up. Mo Ibrahim tracks this in a great way.
