Do you realize that having better items early on transitions to more money later on right? Thus those players obtained all really good items as they kept progressing.

Do you realize that everything has been so extremely buffed and changed up that how fast you killed 9 months ago mean nothing compared to how fast you kill today. Specially for Demon Hunters, Rapid Fire was a nice buff, but just not the correct way if demon hunters are to be put among the others.

Ok lets put an economic concept in your head.

How much gold you do depends on how fast you kill things.
If you kill things fast you make more money, so better gear = more money.

Back then getting a lot of money with a DH was easy, 50k dps and you were good to farm A3.

If you made more money than other people you got ahead of them.

If you got ahead of them you kept making more and more money than them cause you had better gear.

The difference constantly increased.

Those who wanted to try other classes did, those who wanted to leave the game did, those who wanted to keep playing as DH did.

Basically how fast you farmed 9 months ago if you kept playing till now, it could mean billons and billons of gold now.

So how come I doesn't have this billion worth of gear? I've been earning some gold via AH by flipping, and I was a DH that farmed act 3 very early and was one of the first ones to get the first +1000 Dps bow, and a good one as well. 1100 dps. After that I could farm way faster than anyone else in the beginning.

It gets you ahead but you need to keep pushing the envelope. It took me a long time to get to a place where I could flip a decent amount (probably last August). I started with two good finds that netted me about 50m gold which I then used to flip vile wards and make about 100m a week.

In short you need money to make money and having that early start gives you that opportunity to capitalise on it. Doesnt give it to you free though, you need to keep working at it. I hadnt really played much over the last few months but this last week I leveled a bit a made some money flipping. About 100m this week and its not over yet.

I disagree that the DH "had" a head start... well, not totally.

Barb had their Furious Charge abuse, which allowed them to regain life almost instantly. Wizard had their invulnerable Archon mode for a long time. Monk could get up to 4x the loots with Exploding Palm.

The only class that was "not" ahead is the WD. At this point, we might as well say "behind".

Now, the WD had their 0 cooldown Zombie Dog and the Barb could get infinite loots from them.

Barb is the only class ahead now. Everyone else had their shining period. The DH was legit while the others were glitch/bug.

Yeah, I remember my barb friend tanking through everything and regenerating while I was still getting oneshot, of course I had the OP smokescreen, but that couldn't be up 24/7 unless you had legacy nats.
