Agha is probably omong the worst items you can get, unless you got something like a pugna or EB on your team.
Lvl3: 40.3% lvl3+agha: 47.4% 3k hp hero: dead at 1209 if no agha, 1422 if you got agha. So When you are up against a REALLY tanky hero, and use your ulti perfect, you will do a max of 213 damage bonus with your ulti. You can assume that the damage will be totally wasted in alot of cases (would kill without agha) and do around 100 damage in most of the other cases. On the bottle crowing topic, bottle crowing works great. Especially if up against a melee hero. Sadist isnt really enough mana regen for you. Also, this will be used early game. You wont be able to spam away with the help of sadist here. |

I never liked Aghanim's on him. While the boost to the Scythe is nigh acceptable, it is not needed.
The big part about his ultimate that some people almost completely ignore is the short but infinitely useful stun. There are, and they are plenty, times when all you need to kill that hero is that one last stun. You're chasing one enemy hero with your whole freaking team and he just is too far hit without losing LoS. Here you can use your ultimate for that stun after which your teammates can finish him off with their stuns. That cam out much more undecipherably than I intended but hopefully I got my point across. You do not have to always finish the hero off with your Scythe, you can use it as an initiative as well, in which situation Aghanim's does nothing, and there is nothing wrong with that. The people will die, it doesn't matter how.

invest 2 points in sadist and then start to lvl aura instead. make ab and head for bs. having aura erlier is great as it provides u offensive power and u really want it to be effective when it comes to mid game. sadist is usefull in laning when u need the mana reg it provides but during fights it does nothing to u if u dont lh a hero cause all the aoe is flying around and the creeps will die so that u wont get all the mana from them.
now sb is great item on necrolyte as it builds up nice with small components and ab beeing such a great earlygame item and it provides u the hp and mp u need. upgrading it to bs is costeffective imo. the added regen is nice as u will be using a huge amount of mana almost all the time. healing, pushing, fighting and it helps u keep up the mana. and the most important thing about the upgrade is ofc bloodpact. it is just great. way faster respawn and aoe heal for ur mates if u die. when u have enough charges its a free buyback and amost 0 gold lost. and do not underastimate the heal it is huge. bigest heal in game with massive aoe. and u get the exp from 1000aoe and give vision for 1800 aoe. definitely worth 1750. after bs plate mail is the best thing to get for added survivability against physical and pipe against magical. shivas and heart as luxury and depending on situation which one u want. sometimes gs is needed |

Personally I get Aghs on Necro as 1st item foe various reasons.
Stats are decent, give some mana pool and hp,but if you have Sadist level 4 it's really efficient. If I end up at level 11 with aghanims, that little extra damage gives me more chances to get the kill thus giving me 600 mana from sadist (no mana problems, you mana thirsty fiends). I find it particulary efficient against tanky-type carries that can be ahrdly killed, with aghs at half hp he's good as dead. But in the end I guess everyone plays him as they love the most |

OK, time to add some in-depth analysis on the usefulness of this very frowned upon item (in the case of Necrolyte).
DISCLAIMER: No matter what you understand from this post, I DO NOT advocate that the scepter is especially useful after level 16, because it is clearly a very weak bonus to your already devastating ultimate. What I'm putting up for consideration is a NICHE use for Aghanim's Scepter on Necrolyte. I'm not even saying the NICHE is risk-free, but it at least provides a theoretical use for the item. As previously discussed, the stats of the scepter are not cost efficient AT ALL. That being said, stating that they are BAD on the hero is a little far fetched. Having that extra hp and mana early game may obviously be sub-par to other high cost items, but DO NOT forget that the components (especially Point Booster and Ogre Axe) have way higher impact if bought ASAP. Another interesting aspect that's often overlooked in discussions is the fact that once you get Aghs, you don't AUTOMATICALLY reach lvl 16. In fact, you could possibly bum rush an Aghs scepter by level 9-10. At that point, the difference between lvl 1 ult and lvl 1 upgraded ult is at it's peak (lvl 1 Aghs Scythe is BETTER than lvl 2 Scythe cooldown wise). So here's the proposed NICHE: try to get Aghanims by level 11 at it's LATEST. At that point, it may be early enough for the scepter's stats to still provide considerable percentage increases (probably around 33% hp more than u previously had), while also INSTANTLY granting you use of your lvl 16 ult. Aim to end the game before lvl 16, and you've basically made a DECENT choice by buying Aghs (as, before lvl 16, it provided you with a FULL extra level of ult, instead of just a joke 0.3 damage). To sum things up: A rushed Aghs scepter (by rush I mean getting it in a timely fashion) can offer a significant advantage to Necrolyte in the early game. Similar to Panda with Aghanim, having level 11 and an Scepter can considerably bolster your next 2-3 teamfights' presence. This advantage will RAPIDLY diminish as you level up, but I think the inital SPIKE it provides is worth taking into account. I'd like to hear some feedback on this "strategy". |
