How do I upload an avatar?

The avatars are already formatted to be uploaded to Playdota.com.
First, right-click on the avatar and copy it's URL

Then, paste the URL into the URL box on your 'edit avatar' page. (just in case you're new here)

How should I request an avatar?

I can't guarantee that I will get to all requests, but I will definitely try.

Please post like this:

Hero: xxxxx
Animation: xxxxx
Facial Expressions: xxxxx
Background Color: xxxxx
Text: xxxxx
Other Notes: xxxxx

If you want to request a hero portrait Avatar like this:

Just put "Hero Portrait" under 'Animation'.

What program did you use to make these gifs?

I created the images for the .gif's by using the Dota 2 model viewer. Check out Cyborg Matt's guide on how to use the viewer yourself.

There's an awesome, free, online gif creator. The website is www.makeagif.com

I really like the portrait ones. I.e. the Leshrac one and the one Phobos has above me. Those look the best, and would probably serve well as a baseline before adding in the extras such as running or attacking.
