Hmm... I found this icon when I was looking my icon collection...

1st icon is ugly, blurrish and unwarcraftish.
2nd and 3rd icon arent bad, but imo the current one fits better.

I don't feel that your suggested icon fits very well because of the contrast between the earlier icon's simplicity and your icon's complexity. The most similar thing between Quas, Wex, and Exort icons is their black backgrounds surrounding their rather simple icon (two colors at most). The current book follows this theme -- black background, rather simple design, three colors (two of which are similar to each other). Whereas your background might give a better impression of invoke, it has too much movement and most definitely does not give the "simple" impression. It seems unnecessary and imposes itself upon the viewer.

I like this, but you should change the backround. The purple doesn't fit imo. The other icon has a too blurry backround, make it more WC-ish. And make the Red Orb less Purple and more Red, too.

Where is his book?He doesn't has book.He has 3 elements fire lightining and ice.He combine them and makes more efective spell.So the book doesn't fit well.
