------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So about the Excel Sheet now !

I have often thought that it would be great if IceFrog's website team could remake the old board of the old Dota All-Stars on playdota. It used to be a very good way to rank heroes in a lot categories just by clicking.

So I took my night (well my whole night like 7 hours) and made an Excel sheet with almost every information about statistics and advanced statistics of heroes in DotA. I have made it with Excel 2007 so to rank heroes regarding a particular statistic left click on the arrow beside field name above (Stats Gain by example) and click on Sort A to Z or Sort Z to A. If you want to disable the Heading with Excel 2007 : click on Page Layout => Heading => Deselect "View".

If you see any mistake please PM me or change it yourself. Also if you think I have made an horrible job with Excel (indeed it's true that's what I've done lol) you CAN FREELY CHANGE ANYTHING to make it look better visually, change the organization or add new things and then upload your new one.

Statistics Included in Excel : Heroes Name, Base Strength, Base Agility, Base Intelligence, Base Stats, Strength Gain, Agility Gain, Intelligence Gain, Stats Gain, Final Stats, Damage, Armor, Movespeed, Attack Range, BAT (Basic Attack Time), Missile Speed, Sight Range Day, Sight Range Night, Affiliation

Statistics NOT Included : Attack Animation, Casting Animation (frontswing and backswing for both statistics are NOT included)

And all of this typed by my little hands at 4:00 AM. I am so philanthropic ! (and so tired)

Good Night

Screenshot of the Excel Sheet :

DotA version of the Excel Sheet is 6.68 (some informations about new heroes have not been updated so I will complete the sheet when website creator will put them (you still have all the main info anyway !)

Edit #1 : Corrected BeastMaster Stats (Thank to Waz Mac)
Edit #2 : Added Average Statistics and other heroes skill that boost stats
Edit #3 : From 6.64 to 6.68 + cleaned my post a lot + added more average stats + fixed some errors

It's funny, and unexpected, that a lot of the heros that see competitive play the most are at the bottom of the list. I'm guessing it's because those heros were so good at one time, that icefrog nerfed their stats. And heros that sucked at one time, got stat buffs. To me, it seems like abilities and items overcome the stat imbalances among all the heros.

Usually if a hero has less hp or dies often, players say they have lower stats, which isn't true. It's usually just lower strength or bad abilities/movespeed, which all hurt survivability.

Attribute Bonus are not counted (if it was Invoker would be screwed lol)
And yes I typed all with my hand, no formulas on Excel used only google)

Well what make an hero is above all his skills and some heroes don't need agility by example Zeus agility is just ridiculous but it doesn't really affect him because it's a caster. It seems true that stats are here to counterbalance skills but Dazzle skill are all awesome and he is second and Weaver got pretty bad skills but she is still at the bottom. The thing is you can't really rank skill but you can rank numbers.

Thank you really much for finding this one. The error has been fixed on the Excel sheet and in my original post. It was actually an old mistake from my dota all stars post in august.

This is,indeed and excellent article.I myself always wanted to create a similar one but did not have the time for it.Now i see that you have done great job here.

Furthermore,I think this article should belong both to Mechanics&Strategy since it is pure info mechanics-wise,but also provide great knowledge for the Strategy guys.We can assume that heroes with below 6.1 stat-gain per level usually have stronger spells(though it depends on the viewpoint)or their spells are, overall, strong throughout the whole game.
You deserve admiration for putting so much effort (especially at 4 a.m. :P ).
I really hope that this will be stickied so as to be seen by as many ppl as possible.

Don't forget to add a special mention to Silencer's Last Word int steal similar to that of Pudge's Flesh Heap, and a mention to Astral Imprisonment's temporary int steal similar to that of Dirge's Decay.

Your answer made me remembered that I have not included average stats, thank. Well i don't think this deserve a sticky. It just deserve some link and quote when people are talking about stats but if you really love me that much I know a good swingers club at 200 meters of my home and it's open even after 4:00AM ....

Very neat list. Will come in handy if 6.64 OMG comes out. A side note mentioning at 25 invoker doesn't get any attribute bonuses might be nice.

I did something similar some time ago. Did some calculations with the raw values. If you wan't to take a look at it, I'll put a link here. Altough it's DotA 6.63 stuff atm.

For clarification: The right part of the list are the standard deviations from the average values (which are to be found underneath the raw values).

This proves that total stat gains does not affect the playability of a hero. Ability is. Take a look at the bottom-most hero...
