The Necromancer
Mahl' Crou

Background Story
A former elven scholar and theologian and one of the distinguished writers of elven temples despite not being a priest himself. Born of Lordaeron he went back and taught in Catechetical School of Lordaeron. At first The High Priests supported him but as his practices became more unearthly he was expelled and sent to the gallows. And in death he found the last piece of the puzzle he required. Now He walks in between, controlling lifeless bodies and wreaking havoc to the living.

This looks synergied well, but i think the ultimate is kinda booring, think about that.

+3 armor for lvl 4 skill is too low.
He needn't suicide ability.
First Skill is little powerful, in theory he can collect 7 Centaurs' corpses, drop them and raise them all.
Corpse's Gift is a aoe nuke, 1400*10*0,35 (again collects Centaurs' corpses), 4900 dmg, not so huge. Is it works only on collected corpses?

I know. Still thinking of better ways to incorporate the corpse or animated units to the skill. Until then lets make do with this one.

I guess i could enforce a level limit of creeps that can be animated.
does that solve both problems?

First Skill is okay, tho decrease the number.

Second skill is okay, syngergises well with the first one.

Third skill i like the most.

Ulti okay..


Overall 8/10. Change Corpse Collection into Soul Harvest. Sounds better imo

Icons: I like 4.5/5

Model: good. 5/5

Stats: seems to be in order. 4/5

1st skill: nice pushing skill. very unique to dota. 5/5

2nd skill: nice to go with the first skill. also does well with pit lord's aoe stun (longer staying corpses = more stuns). also unique. 4/5

3rd skill: good to have skill. since the hero heavily depends on corpses, it's good to have some with you no matter where you go. also unique to dota. 4/5

ultimate: this is so good i can't even comment on it. also unique. 4/5

synergies: the hero's full of them. 4/5


overall: 34.5/40 (86%)

4 stars out of 5! T-up!


note: my jaws locked for saying corpse too many times.

more notes: i think pit lord and your hero would be arguing most of the time (pit lord's like: "to hell with your corpse preserving sh*t. let's blow them up!". and your hero's like: "shut the crap up pit lord or i won't reanimate your d*ck. everyone knows it's long dead". Then abaddon passes by and he's like: "oh no he di-in't".)

Mahl' Crou the Necromancer
  • Background Story: A bit too short. 5/10
  • Icons and Model: Icons are good enough but Leragas and the guys on Dirge’s tombstone look like him. 6/10.
    P.S. I would hate him to frequent by the secret shop. I might click the wrong guy.

Skills:
  • Undead Army: Animate Dead returns… reduce the number of raised corpses. By the way, I suggest naming this skill into “Corpse Corps”, it’s synonymous with Undead Army but more creative don’t you think? Although it isn’t very much original because there is such thing in the animé Blood+, it would sound better. 7/10
  • Necromastery: He’ll definitely have an issue with Azgalor. 7/10
  • Corpse Collection: Useful. I have thought of a synergy for this skill which would involve a stunner, the Necromancer, and Pit Lord. Stunner ally stuns the enemy, Mahl' Crou, will scatter the corpses, and Azgalor would make them explode. 10/10
  • The Haunting: Drum roll please… <insert sound effect here>, ASTONISHING! 10/10

Grand Total: 7.5/10. Quite a remarkable hero. Although it possesses several similarities with the Old Pudge from the earlier versions of DotA especially with the first and third skill, I truly think that he is very much DotA-worthy. Work on your storyline, though. It made him nothing more than a typical undead.

Great all... but about 1 and 2 skill. Dont you think that 10 units with maxed "Necromancery" will not too strong?

concept - 8/10
icon - fix your icons please.... 6/10
synergy - 4.5/5
balance - 5/5

skill 1 - dirge's old skill.. raise zombies.... ok... 7/10
skill 2 - somewhat forced to 1st skill... and the name needs to be changed... 7/10
skill 3 - from the concept of nvrmore's necromastery... and the sub skill seems not done yet... 7/10
skill 4 - boring... :| 7/10

overall: 77/100 = 77%
