There are applications for some subforums: Like Competitive and Studio D'Art. They are not always active, but watch for stickies.
This one goes for all other forums. To become a mod, you should follow these rules:
We always look for nice and helpful guys, all you need to do is Focus on one thing, and sooner or later, you'll be noticed (or contacted) by us. Some of the guys which were reqruited by being helpful and active: View Profile: Leq View Profile: 3DM@rk View Profile: Foede View Profile: GoD_Tyr View Profile: XaTrIxX View Profile: Lycan View Profile: NoThlnG View Profile: Green_Sliche View Profile: antiweltteilchen View Profile: Lordshinjo ... and ofcourse, Me ![]() Hope this helped.

It also depends greatly if the sub-forum needs modding, or perhaps modding at certain times. Some sub-forums should be watched all the time, like DC and RC, so it would be better to have mods from different timezones to have it all covered. But apart from that, the other points seem quite correct. |

Just one more quick question: What about the wiki? are there any mods for that yet, or has it not been decided since its not fully open yet?

Also, you can't become a mod just because you want to. Read the list once again.

It's important to understand that there is no post count or requirement threshold that deems you worthy of being a Moderator. It works on a case by case basis when a Moderator is in need.

Although I am a forum moderator in a different forums, you have to deserve it. Post counts do not count. You have to think about it, do you have what it takes to be one? Ask yourself questions like: 1. Do I have what it takes? 2. What do I do for the community? 3. Do I deserve it? 4. Will I make a commitment? |

Yes, we do >_>. Me, for example, and Jenova and Infrisios, and roaming mods like Cpuja. Full list of mods is right here: DotA Forums - Show Groups
You asked for a particular reason? o.O? |

Well, the suggs forum is like a "free spirit" of sorts, so right now we are going for the "let your mind fly" mode, and gather any idea that comes out of it. At least for the moment, until a new sugg system is implemented.
But if you spot anything we should take care off, feel free to report the post, and we should take a look at it. I'll take note of your interest in helping out, but that's all I can do for the time being :P If you wanna help, stay active, give good criticism and feedback, report trolls, and do anything a good poster would do

Would be a plus if you didn't, though of course we'll still consider your application if you have -- depending on your skills and traits.

Since this is the thread posted on the FAQ, imma throw this in here:
MAIN GROUPS Administrators: (Titans a.k.a Gods) - Like the title says, they control everything here and have every right and access. Forum Managers: (Global Moderators) - Have mod powers and access to every section on the forum. - Have access to Staff Conference and Manager Conference. - They can also post in Site Feedback. - They don't have a special title but you know who they are. Forum Staff: (Moderators) - Have mod powers in the section they have been assigned to. - They have access to every section on the forum but they do not have mod powers there. - They have access to Staff Conference. - Cannot post in site feedback. Competitive Staff: (Moderators) - Nearly the same as Forum Staff but they have a special title as they deal with Competitive DotA and the related sections. - They do not have access to Staff Conference except the heads of the section. Graphics Crew: (GFX Dudes) - They have mod powers in Studio D'Art > Members Requests section. - Have access to Graphic Conference. - NO, they do not have access to the Staff Conference. Am an exception coz I lead the GFX Team and am Graphics Crew only by title. I fall under Forum Managers. SPECIAL PERMISSIONS Editors: - They are Forum Staff who deal with main page and have the ability to edit stuff like Comics, Videos, Fan Art, Fact of the Day, Replays and etc. - No special title again. Wiki Admins: - Forum Staff again who help in the making and maintaining the DotA Wiki. - No special title. All hail WyK! And this ones too: http://www.playdota.com/forums/161108/admin-admins/ http://www.playdota.com/forums/170067/moderatorship/ http://www.playdota.com/forums/18466...-adminstrator/ http://www.playdota.com/forums/21743...r-differences/ |

But any member can post in Site Feedback, right ?
Or are you talking about something else ? |

Normal mods (like me, for example), can't post in site feedback. Normal forumers are perfectly free to post there.
Since mods are the "visible face" of PD, we must make sure the right people are posting there answering questions, both in term of information and in posting quality. |
