Default [Remake/Drop Item] Roshan's Drop.




Not many people these day are getting them self's a Rapier, especially if it's a competitive Dota.

So I wanted to suggest, maybe it's already suggested, to remove Divine Rapier from the shop and add it to Roshan's drop, BUT to ban it to wear at the same time with Aegis. In other words you can't wear Divine Rapier and Aegis at the same time.

Keep Divine Rapier's ability to be dropable upon death and to disappear after some time(I don't remember exactly how many minutes it is) the same way as Aegis disappears.

Gosh I can't even imagine the unforeseeable consequences this change might have! But I like where your heart is at. Rapier is actually in DotA, most of us are unaware of it's existence but you want to change that. It's a very premature concept. Nonetheless I will support your efforts! Also, making the wearer only capable of carrying one item is a good idea.

Otherwise it would be too imba for heroes who can kill Roshan very early like Ursa, Venom and Lycantrope.(This is just little information for those, who doesn't understand why it's important to separate them.)

I don't think that ursa is that dangerous without aegis. Plus as I stated it's not permanent, it will be available only until new Roshan is spawned, and it's not that much of a time.

Hell, didn't you got my point? Any hero who can kill rosh alone will be overpowered! Did you know that mostly ursa players kill roshan under the ~10-15min cap? Imagine ursa with +300, with ultimate and rapier.

I did get your point, lol. Now I would like to see how you're going to risk loosing that Rapier. Killing Ursa, specially under 15 min, is not that hard. 2 stunners vs 1 Ursa, guess who's going to lose?

PLUS, this will give you more motivation to control Roshan better.

Have you ever watched competitive DotA? Never seen Yamateh rushing 3+ Rapiers?

Also T-D on the idea, it makes level 1 roshan and early level roshan far too rewarding, and is extremely gamebreaking for a team thats been outplayed to pull off a successful rosh and have their carry automatically gain +250 damage... I'm sorry but this is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever read.

Emm..so? You got +250, what's next? Simple focus and say bye bye to Rapier. Plus the fact that Rapier is not permanent means that you can't waste your time, either push or be ready to waste Rapier.

You have +TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY damage. Your downsizing it. This makes any hero a very very dangerous carry, especially since the 3 Carry Hybrid 2 Turtlers strategy is now widespread. 1 Successful Rosh is completely game breaking. After your carry has +250 damage for free from a Rosh you push and end the game. He cannot be focused down because of many factors. 1. Team, 2. Skill, 3. Farm. The metagame has shifted towards farming after SMM, as boring as watching 6 heroes rice for 35 minutes is, its the truth. Bad idea imho, just keep it as a sometimes used recipe item.

Well dota is not about Yamateh, or Asians(no disrespect), because they are famous for using weird picks and strategies, which eventually work.

Now I see your point, and no, I'm not satisfied with just leaving it as a recipe item.

what if the rapier scaled so that it wasnt as good for the first few deaths of roshan. maybe 100/175/250/325/400?

I only add the 325 and 400 for fun. I've never seen a game that has had more than 3 roshes so its kinda just for academic reasons.

T-UP if the rapier gets scaled.

I was think of nerfing Rapier from 250 to 200 or even 150 dmg, but I'm afraid that people might just find it not that efficient as it is now.

Nobody is going to play it, the same way as nobody is playing -dm, the same what as nobody is playing -sc(super creep) and the same way as nobody is playing -wtf. By nobody I mean a very few number of people.


My aim is to make Rapier more popular among competitive level players.

it isn't a rlly good idea, i as a pro pubstomper tell u so, NOT EVERYONE plays 5v5 NOT EVERYONE plays 4v4 NOT EVERY TEAM has a bunch of stunners REMEMBER pubs are the lulz pubz so it isn't 100% accurate saying every pubby team of 5 players has 2 stunners or nukers, i remember in a 3v3 game we played imba 3 agi heroes guess what... we won :S if we add ur idea 2 of 3 things are going to happen, most of pubbers left the game QQing about "OMFG IMBA TEAM DIVINE RAPIER WIPED MA ASS IN 13 MINS WTF !" as the first idea, no new players for dota bcuz they get imba-pub stomped by "pro-stompers" in all the games as second idea and a part of the pubbers LEARN how to at least play AT LEAST A BIT, so u killed dota in 2 ways and saved it in 1 way but no one knows for sure what of those 3 will happen

This is an interesting idea. It could improve the role of roshan in competitive games. The restrictions provided is enough to balance the case and the disappearing of Rapier like Aegis is an another balancing feature.
