What DOTA2 needs it's an official LAN/offline mode. It needs to co-exist with the online.
Game will apparently officially release prior to the international so might not be that long. But I still say they have abandoned the idea including LAN or allowing people to host their own games.
Will find out sooner or later if I'm right.
So far i can see,
no LAN play availability from their updates.
but the latest installer offline version that includes latest training mode (sniper vs tide , sniper vs Axe) already released,
also the server files , config files and emulator for Dedicated Offline Multiplayer updated too from both forums i told earlier.
and it could make more easier if u have original Alien Swarm game with steam.. coz the server files can be use to make offline multiplayer for dota 2 (LAN). dont ask me how, i just take the files, etc etc etc
