***Blade of the Elders***

A purple-black blade worn only by vampire elders. It senses the wounds of the weak, removing their ability to run far as their wounds open with every step they take.
~~~Stats~~~
Buy recipe to upgrade [max of 3 levels]
Level 1:
+20 Str
+10 damage
+10% AS
Grants orb effect: Pain Level 1

Level 2:
+23 Str
+12 damage
+15% AS
Grants orb effect: Pain Level 2

Level 3:
+26 Str
+14 damage
+20% AS
Grants orb effect: Pain Level 3

Sange-------------------------2250 gold

Quarterstaff--------------------900 gold

Recipe----------------------------850 gold

Midnight's Blade Level 1------4000 gold
~~~Effects explanation~~~
Pain: Every wound the enemy takes hurts their reflexes, slowing them down.
Level 1: For every 10% of max HP lost, 3% slow inflicted. First slow bonus starts at 91 - 100% HP.
Level 2: For every 10% of max HP lost, 5% slow inflicted. First slow bonus starts at 91 - 100% HP.
Level 3: For every 10% of max HP lost, 7% slow inflicted. First slow bonus starts at 91 - 100% HP.
Orb effects do not stack.

Its a nice concept, and these "diminishing effects" items/abilities are gaining popularity (since nether toxin). However, I'm not sure if Dota really needs this; we already have sandy.

Hmm. I'd say this should be fine in DotA. Although on second read it feels like a stacking slow to me. Any comments about the overall balance and stuff?

Overall idea, I'm not really against. Yasha has its own non-S&Y recipe, so I guess Sange deserves one too.

That said, I could see this item as really irritating in the hands of certain heroes. Think Nightstalker, Naix, etc.

One other thing to note: would you mind changing Quarterstaff to something else? It's already used in like, 38592 recipes.

Well, the upgrade is there for the fact that +20 Str doesn't really scale that well into late game, especially for the heroes this item is meant for.

Mm.. Changing Quarterstaff to what? I wouldn't use any stats items, what could you suggest? Gloves?

How about damage bonus item like javelin, hammer, or claymore?

Or hp regen or armor enhance like RoH, armors, etc.....

Or something like 2 gloves....

Or something like talisman of evasion....

Or boosters...

Or increase the recipes...


I think there are many options here ^^

T-Up for concept though, but there might soon be spamming of "For every x health missing... first bonus starts at full health" kind of stuff

Even with the many options I need something that is decent for the game phase it's designed for. Quarterstaff felt like the best item. And somebody did advise not to use 2 gloves on another item suggestion of mine, so I'm still undecided.

As I've pointed out above, the reason for upgrading it is because of the +20 Str, which doesn't scale well into the late game.

Well, it would really depend on how creative the idea is. Some ideas might be balanced, like Nethertox, or this one

T-Up for the concept

Anw the reason why there are recepies is that, in that way is more expensive and if you Gota rush this item to gain str instead of buying 372562 bracers its also good, but if you wana make it your core item...speaks for itself

claymore sounds good to me. somewhat neglected item imo. this sounds like a cool item btw. and yeah i would like to see sange get another combo item
