Thanks for liking it.
Although I admit its kind of bland at the moment, I will edit and update it immediately when I get that light bulb moment. ![]() But currently I'm just putting another idea out there.

Ok, a few more problems with this item, at least with me.
I don't believe Blade Mail needs an upg. Also, Eaglehorn screams DPS at me. It also costs 3.3k. Blade Mail ALONE is cheaper than that. Your creating a survivability item out of an item has most spending aimed at DPS. This doesn't really work for me. Sorry, this one imo NEEDS a rethink.

You don't get the big picture. I'm trying to formulate a DPS item that has survivability incorporated in it as it is arguably what is needed greatly by such items.

Thanks.
![]() I will see if I would remove the passive, because in doing so will just make it into an ordinary Blademail at the moment.

I'm thinking of adding an effect to the Damage Return active. Whenever the hero receives damage while Damage Return is active, the hero gains X damage, times the number of damage instances received.
I also nerfed it seeing that Blademail got nerfed.

This item is essentially destroy's blademail's anti carry role. There is absolutely no way someone else who uses a blademail against the carry with this item will last even last long enough to weaken the dps because it is like a 50 pct damage increase. Leave blademail it is, its one of the few counters I have against pub drows.

But this item essentially boosts a carry's needed survivability. And if you notice its new mechanics, Blademail no longer returns Blademail sourced damage. So your main concern is put to rest.

Well, then at least care to share your problems? I'm starting to get ticked off by people that say that they dislike or have have a problem with something but do not at least tell why.

Doesn't high armor negate the effects of blademail against physical attacks? (+7 armor and +agi = high armor)

Correct, and I am guessing this is a concern for you with Damage Reflect. Sure damage returned is mitigated by the fact it has high armor, but the need remains that survivability must be had. That is the main concern and Damage Return simply adds to this by forcing the enemy to not attack you when this is active. Besides, bonus armor still does nothing for magic.

I actually like this more as a type of blade mail remake. I don't necessarily think that it has to be the way it is and I actually think mere passive return could be much more interesting. A cool kind of active would be like immolation. Of course it conflicts with everything else in the game.

Thanks, I'm just throwing an idea out there, your concept of Immolation is cool.

Ontopic : imo if you want to make a dps + survivability item in one I don't think the dmg return is really a good idea as if your a hard dps carry then you won't have that much hp to return and the enemy won't care even if the damage is returned. Also there is already such an item - AC. Null

May i ask something ?
Will you continue with making shitty suggestions that combine eaglehorn with some other item until icefrog implent one or until you suggest all possible combinations ? Srsly the second option is getting close every minute. I agree with making new opinion to eaglehorn upgrade othar than butterfly since there is the new maelstorm, but dont zerg it so much please. Im pretty sure Icefrog said that he dont give a shit about most actual item combination suggestions. |
