Default Greyham's Bell

Quote:

Greyham's Bell
675

Because we Ogre's not so stupid.
I want a piece of peace.

Greyham, Ogre Craftsman

Active: Set Alarm
Passive: Increases armor by 2.
Passive: Increases health regeneration by 2 per second.
Passive: Increases intelligence by 3.

Set Alarm

Marks an area of land (400 aoe). When an enemy unit goes into that area, you and your allies hear a bell sound and a the trap location is pinged on your minimap for 2 seconds. After that, the trap disappears. Maximum of 1 trap at a time. You do not gain sight in the area!
Cooldown: 60 second
Mana cost:
5

  • When this item is dropped or sold, the spell ends, unless somebody else from your team does carry a copy of this item.
  • Several allies may have this item, however when one sets an alarm, the previous team effect will be overwritten.
  • The bell sound won't be triggered when Global Silence is active, however the ping and skill will still work as normal.
  • The set area is noticeable only to allies by a 400 aoe circle (no specific model at the moment, just a thought).
  • Disabled on couriers.

Thanks to everybody who helped to improve this item! You all gave me a lot of suggestions, I finally edited the info, I know I should have done it ages before.

I think it's a known problem at the moment, please write to an admin or mod and don't open it here.

They won't do it purposely unless something is going on. Keep your suggestion.

Great suggestion btw!

As I aggree on the suggestion topic.

Not sure if this is a srs suggestion but don't really like the item, what if 2 bells are placed?
1 top and 1 bottom and the alarm triggers? How do you which zone/bell is ringing?

You can't post anything there atm. The admins or mods configurate the forum wrong.

Think we could improve this a bit by instead of alarm.A ping on the minimap is shown.

You mean, what if you buy eg. 6 bells?
The ability is still the same. You can palce only 1 trap at a time.

Take a look at any active item.. Lets say dagon. When you buy 6 dagons, you can't cast 6 dagons in a row anyway, right?

//added info about mana cost and cooldown.

//I'll add ping on map later, thanks Visnger.

//It's an anti-gank item ofc. Use wisely, because enemy creeps trigger alarm too.

Maybe you should add a duration, I assume it will work kinda like a ward?
Then I also assume only the placer of the bell receives the warning, not the whole team?

This is similar to a ward. But I wanted to make another ward thing.

Bell VS Wards..
Bell has no duration, Wards do.
Bell can't be seen or destroyed, Wards do.
Bell can be bought any time, Wards are limited.
Bell has no vision, but warns you. Wards have vision, but they don't tell you anything, you can "miss" the enemy.
Bell is more expensive.
Bell uses a inventory place all the time.
Bell is for 1 person, wards are for team.
I think BELL Map Ping should be visible to the whole team though.

Yes, only the placer recieves the sound - imagine 5 bells (allies)

Support, Anti-ganker item.

Its a lovely map awareness and anti-gank item.

Perhaps increase the price? It provides 1 HP/sec regen which is half of a RoR, which already costs 350 and 1 intelligence point is already like 50 gold -- plus the awesome ability.

Yea, but:
RoR is used in recepies.
And as you said, it's HALF or RoR.
You pay 175 gold for 1 hp per second.
Which means you pay 175 for 1 INT and the ability.
2 wards cost 200 gold.. So lets say..
1 ward costs 100 gold..
Which means you pay 75 gold for 1 INT. Thats a lot.

I think the price is balanced.

Omfg, personally I love the name.. xD

I love this idea. As you said, it is a ward without being a ward. I can already think of great places to put one of these:
-Enemy secret shop
-Runes
-Jungles
-Roshan

And then all of the crossings where 3 paths meet. The only problem is it would make ganking even more ineffective

Good item.

Interesting concept Dirk, I don't have sound on my PC since the card blew so this doesn't exactly appeal to me. I never played with WC3 sound anyway, mp3s, yknow

Still, concept is nice, the random intel is unnecessary?

Ogres have high regeneration, so I putted hp per second. Hp regen is also important early game, if some1 wants this item.

Ogres arent intelligent, but Greyham was one of a kind.
I putted his attributes into this item. Also, many support heroes are INT, and its meant to be a support item. The spell mana cost is 5, and you gain 13 free mana. Its nothing, true, but IMO it can stay.

Why not make this item a recipe one, since it'll be in your inventory for a lengthy amount of time.

I think 2 Mantle of Intelligence and Ring of Regeneration is good on this.

Added another option. No recepie, but uses some items.

I noticed there is NO item is DoTA which gives +armor +hp regen. Isn't that strange?
Thanks all, thanks Dark Mizuki.
