Phase boots are useless!

Rhasta's ward are not buildings. They are wards. And you CAN phase through wards.

And Icefrog does not want to buff survivability, simply because it would mean nerfing instant though-actions. And that's what he wants.



I take phase when I need money and I have no use for stats nor attack speed, but outruning my enemies is something I'd certainly use.

Phase isn't useless, just situational. Phase is a great ability for what you pay for. Not all heroes need BoT or Treads.

Phase are great. Pudge / Clock / Troll / Broodmother / Lina / Leschrak / Zeus and a lot of other heroes can use it VERY effectively. Im not going to talk about the phase abilty , if you don't know how good it is then I dont wanna waste my time on you.

The bonus dmg is just a bonus for those 1-2 hits you are going to get between your spells and having a total of +50 dmg wouldnt hurt. A lina casting stun + the rest of her spells can hit 3-4 times in between amounting to more than 100dmg. How the fuck is that bad ??? The same goes for pudge , he doesnt need the attack speed since he is chasing but he can really use some raw dmg bonus. And ofcourse the same applies to clock and some other chasing heroes which wont use the AS of treads because they are chasing but they can certainly use the +24dmg

"Ward" is just a target classification, like Ancient or Hero. A ward is still a unit.

On the topic of Phase Boots, it gives the 3rd best damage per gold in the game (only behind Divine Rapier and Demon Edge, just barely ahead of Sacred Relic which ALL give nothing but damage). If you want cheap damage, then Phase Boots will provide it.

Phase Boots gives more MS than BoT 50% of the time and is 45% cheaper (no it does not give Teleport, but you people seem to be saying that BoT is better in terms of MS)

@Steric: assume base MS 300.

With BoT: 395
With PB: 370 + 10% 50% of the time, which is, in this case, +37 MS half of the time, which amounts to about 388 MS overall. Activated it's 407, which is barely more than with BoT.

Phase ability is good, but don't talk about PT being faster. With BoT, you're faster overall. This is the same as with burst heal from healing salve or tangoes. Both have their uses, but can't be compared in that way of "but salve heals more in shorter time!" cause they have different purposes.

Also, PB are worse on slower heroes because it's %-based. Only slightly, yes. But you get noticably less total bonus MS out of Phase if your base MS is low.

Also, if you talk about +24 damage, you need to remember that it's only 14 damage more than int treads, in the lina example autoattacking after nukes. And it's one or two nukes less mana-wise.

PBs are not useless, but they are underpowered. Nerf the damage and put the armor back on, even less maybe (+3 or +4)

I get phase on most heroes that need good postioning and could use the extra speed and dmg for harass,like pugna,clock etc.Also noobs dont realise how awesome phaseboots are for escaping chasing through aggroed creeps.

Later i can just dissasemble them for pt/bot.

The fuck?
You get PT when you want attack speed and str/int
You get PB when you want movement speed,chasing power and damage
You get TB when you want cheap speed, free heal and are not going to be hit a lot
You get BoT late game when your towers are down so you can't tp to them, for movement speed and freeing a slot (portal scrolls)

All boots have a point, it's just that you are stuck with the worst of them, power treads
if you want str buy tranq and a bracer and you have better boots than PT for slightly bigger cost
You buy treads for the attack speed, not the stats
