Default [Skill] Ice Path (w/ testmap)

Ice Path takes 1.15 seconds to activate, meaning that it is extremely easy to dodge, unless you are slowed or disabled. And jak has a slow, but it's cast range isn't as big as Ice Path's, and you shouldn't have to disable someone to disable someone. When you compare Ice Path to a skill like storm bolt, it pales. Storm bolt is target able, has a lower cd, is hard to dodge without blink/invis, and does 325 damage. Ice path has nothing over storm bolt. In fact, if Ice Path was anything less then a disable, it would be skipped for stats. But just because it isn't ignored, does not mean that it should stay this way.

It works like this. When the Ice Path explodes, nearby enemies are frozen in ice just like in frost bite.(without the damage) Then every .5 seconds, enemies within 175 range of frozen targets are also frozen. And this keeps going on until 2.5 seconds is up.
Yum. This new Ice Path is a real team player now. Now, even if you miss almost everyone, as long as you get one person, you isolate that person from his team, less his team wants to risk all getting disabled. Also, this can greatly extend the range of Ice Path. By freezing creeps, and other heroes, you can open doorways to freezing other creeps and other heroes.

Why is this remake needed?

Ice path sucks, but Ice path is not Jak's only problem. While dual breath is one of the best skills in the game, offering an AoE slow, and amazing AoE damage, on a relatively short cd, everything else he has is sub par. His ult hardly does any damage, because they move out of it so quickly even with Aghanim's, and Ice path could help, but it is also extremely easy to dodge. Also, his passive still isn't all that good. At least buffing his disable will help him be a better hero over all, and this particular remake, while not changing to much, opens up quite a broad array of strategies.

The test map (by the amazing Pengwyn) shows the basics of the spell. A couple things to read before playing it, 1) due to memory leaks, the spell only works once. so restart the map each time. 2) the animation last longer then the actual disable.

Well, Ice Path is good and bad. And I always found Ice Path hard and easy to aim. It depends on situation and where you are. Though this sounds good

But, so if there was about 20 creeps, you froze 5 of them, it'd slowly expand to them?

I call this Chain Ice Path now.

Testmap to prove its awesomeness? (I might work on it, I made a ice Path spell quite awhile ago). Testmap == too hard for me.

Duration? So you mean, it will chain freeze enemies for up to 2.5 seconds, so max of 5 times? Or you mean until there are no more targets left?

concept it decent but 300 aoe chain disable, thats a bit much. maybe its just me.

As long as the 5 you froze where close enough to the other 15, yes, it would expand every .5 seconds.

OMG, a testmap would be so great. A lot of people have a hard time understanding the concept on paper, I've never been very good at explaining this one.

Yes, a max of five times. ALL of the ice disappears after 2.5 seconds.

I see where you are coming from, but it does only last 2.5 seconds with no damage, and the enemies can still cast. And naturally, duration and cd are never final, even in the game they change all the time.

its a line, new lines come out of that line based on enemy placement

it would be very interesting to see if the numbers ended up being Fibonacci

its not exactly how it is in game and if u cast it too much it might get lagg because i havnt dealt with all memory leaks, but it shows what it would do at level 4 to a very good extent.

I reduced you 300 aoe to 175 aoe like it is in the path

Edit: in fact it only works for one cast so just reset map ill try fix it

Fair concept, but all the Icepath thing should stop after 2.5 seconds (it can go for longer, from what I read)

It does stop at 2.5 seconds.

Could you explain why you thought differently? Maybe I could make it more clear.

Yea ice path suck, can't hardly can land it properly especially if enemy had fast movement speed.

I read that your Ice Path still allows enemies to cast spell, right? Old Ice Path is a complete disable like stun. But the new one is clearly better for mass disabling. Can u come up with a new peculiar name for it
