Default [COSMETIC] Skill Tooltips


In my opinion, the skill template needs a uniform base. The items got it, why not skills?

Here's an example of a current tooltip, from Invoker



As you can see, it isn't very uniform.

My template is this:



Skill Name - Level X

Enter description of skill here. Do not use any numbers, only explain what the skill does.
For example, Invoker builds up a charge of electromagnetic energy at a targeted location which automatically detonates and burns mana dependant on Wex.


Effects: Enter the skill's effects here. For example, Burns 400 mana and removes half the burnt mana from the unit's hitpoints.
Casting Details: Enter the skill's cast range, AoE, and target type. Also mention the damage type of the skill. For example, 600 casting range, 700 AoE location target.

Cooldown: Cooldown in seconds. Don't add the numbers (despite the pictures)!


Orb Effects do not stack.
Buff placers do not stack.

Channeling: Will stop casting if interrupted.
Scepter Upgradeable: Improves ...


Right-click to activate auto-casting.




At the level-up screen:

Effects: Variations on effects depending on the level. For example, 2/2.5/3 second stun. etc.
Casting Range: Variations on casting range and AoE.

Manacost: Variations on manacost, such as 150/160/170

Cooldown: Variations on cooldown. For example, 20/19/18 seconds.

Orb Effects do not stack.
Buff placers do not stack.

Channeling: Will stop casting if interrupted.
Scepter Upgradable: Improves...

Ignore any part of the slate that doesn't need it. For example, Passive skills may not need cooldown, or the skill's AoE does not variate.

Once again, forgot the skill level. The seconds on the cooldown shouldn't be there. It should just be 25.

Notes
Invoker is a special case requiring a bit of coding to work with the text and adjust according to his Quas/Wex/Exort abilities.
According to Phthalocyanine, apparently you can code even further for most skills with cooldown and variable effects in the learn section. You could probably even extend this to the normal tooltips, adjusting damage and stuff where-fit.

I would even go farther, and add Cast range and AoE and so on. (i.e. damage type or penetrates magic immunity)

Some skills are more clearly explained that others. I think this should be implemented where it really needs to be. I.e. Dirge, when I first played him, I had no idea of what some of his skills did, even after reading the tooltip 3 or 4 times. The only way I could figure it out was by using them. Some heroes won't need this suggestion, but some definitely will. T-up for the right implementation, because a little backstory rounds the descriptions off nicely I feel.

since the casting range for his ulti is shown!!!

put casting range in skills description!!!
for auras, put the AoE..

anyway, T-up
but add casting range and AoE for auras
