Roshan place is balanced and requires no remakes. Also, this would bring a whole new level of imbalances and would require about 20 patches to balance, which we certanly don't need. Maybe in a distant future, who knows (7.00 DotA maybe) . . .

Also it is never worth balance work to have a fun new feature, and this new guy will definitely take ages to balance despite the fact there is absolutely ZERO detail about what he would be like so there's no way of knowing WHAT the balance effects would be.< all sarcasm detectors in a 50 mile radius explode > That's just another way of saying "maybe never." Why will the future be a better time than now? Cp6uja_ please don't use ridiculous unfounded hyperbole like this. It's disappointing to see you use what I personally see to be the lowest tool in a debate, since you're generally a pretty sensible guy. On the topic: I don't mind having a second boss as long as there's a purpose for it. Another thread suggested a more challenging boss, sure. This thread just suggests a different boss apparently for the sake of having one with no vision for how it would be different.

I was thinking Roshan drops an Aegis and "the new boss" drops a cheese. BALANCE!

Why not have one boss drop a Divine Rapier, while the other one drops the Aegis? This way, there will be an offensive reward and a defensive one.
However, I am pretty content with how things currently work. I have always considered Roshan to be a neutral boss in the first place. |

Instead of giving a 100% for roshan to drop aegis why not change it to a 50% for each boss so that only one boss will drop aegis at a time.

if a new boss is added, double the re-spawn time for both. So same amount of aegis are flying around in game.
Anyway i don't really see it as needed.

The new boss you suggest looks too robotic and man made to me.

I liked the idea about one droping Aegis and the other one dropping Divine Rapier. I think it's unnecesary to mension, thou i'll do it anyway. The new dropped Divine Rapier may have the same effect as it does nowadays, but will be DESTROYED upon death (or when the new boss claims it); If it's that way, i don't really see much of a problem. Maybe nerfing DR attack bonus, as it'd be much easier to get now.

I would love a new boss.
The problem with allowing divine rapier is that it is an item that greatly prefers one type of hero over another. Sure, many carries are physical damagers, but many casters do have the potential to carry with their spells even after the bloodstone nerf. And unlike ageis, which is neutral and useful to all hero types, a divine would be ridiculous on a necrolyte/krob for example. However, the notion that rosh is easier for the scourge is ridiculous, and that model is a no-no.

I like the Rapier idea. Then maybe the Scourge roshan can be solely a high defense neutral creep which rewards the perseverance of trying to kill him with his ability to have high defense (the current aegis). And then the other boss closer to the sentinel can be a crazy high dps machine that rewards those who can withstand his crazy damage with a high damage-aura equivilent (Divine rapier, maybe nerfed to 150 damage and removed on death to return to the boss' lair, just like the other roshan except in offensive form).

It has always been a controversial issue if a new boss is needed at the sentinel side of the map or not. But most people don't think that, a new npc, especially when it is a boss, can ruin the game's atmoshphere and balance completely. We would have to wait 10-15 new versions for balancing.
Null vote.
