Default [SOLUTION] Ogre Magi


The scaling of the current Fire Blast makes no sense. It increases its damage per level by 50, 50 then 100.

That isn't sensible and it is a pretty poor nuke (without mulitcast) as is so I suggest we rescale it like this.


- Current

Level 1: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 75 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 2: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 125 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 3: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 175 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 4: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 275 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.


- Suggestion - Changes in green.

Level 1: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 80 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 2: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 145 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 3: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 210 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 4: Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals 275 damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds.


I also found yet another problem with Ogre Magi's ability scaling.

The mana cost for Fireblast is increased when skilling Multicast by 30/80/110.

WTF AGAIN! It increases by 50 then 30....

So I also suggest we rescale it too so its an even 40 mana increase.


- Current

Level 1: Increases Fireblast cost by 30.

Level 2: Increases Fireblast cost by 80.

Level 3: Increases Fireblast cost by 110.


- Suggestion - Changes in green.

Level 1: Increases Fireblast cost by 30.

Level 2: Increases Fireblast cost by 70.

Level 3: Increases Fireblast cost by 110.


One final issue I found with ogre magi is his warding ability.

Due to being a melee hero he is not able to kill wards placed on cliffs. This drastically decreases his effectiveness as a warding hero and although it may seem insignificant it can have a large impact on his gameplay. However making ogre magi ranged would not be balanced so I suggest we do this.

Make Ignite cast-able on wards


This simple idea would make Ogre a much more effective support hero and I truly am confident he would be much more viable with this change.


PROS

-Scales properly
-more useful early game
-not a drastic change so balancing would not be a huge issue
-more effective as a warder


CONS

-Too good to be true?
-Is it fair that he can kill wards when other melee heroes can't? (your opinion matters most PD!)


With this the damage scales by an even 65 per level without significantly changing the skill and there is no fear of an "imbalanced" 4X Multi-cast because the damage at level 4 remains the same.

And also the mana cost from level 11-15 is a whopping 10 mana lower than the current!

He is also more effective as a warder now!

It could do with a little buff actually, it's a terrible nuke until late game, when nukes stop mattering anyways.

True but you can't buff the damage it does at level 4. The forums general opinion (after I did some thread searching) was that fireblast was too weak early game but buffing it would make a 4X multicast too strong. This will make it strong early game without re-instilling there fear of an imba multicast.

It's way to weak in the first levels etc venges stun gives 100, 175 (at level 2 it deals the damage of a level 3 fireblast).

Yes, Nice idea.. but Ignite can be buffed also from 95-105-115-125 MP to 95 at all levels since this Ogre need big help in farming.

Note: Ignite only viable as a farming tool when already AoE (means after Ultimate choosen)

There's a solution for that, you know. You can just decrease the CD and remove the decreasing CD part from multicast, removing a bit of the overreliance OM has from multicast. That's also a way to buff the spell (bad nuke btw), without making it retarded with MC.
