Default [ABILITY] BH's Wind Walk


This isn't a complete remake, but rather just an idea I had to help accomodate 6.65's changes to Gondar.

So, my suggestion:

Change Wind Walk's 'backstab' damage to a 1-shot attack damage bonus (eg. +dmg).

(No change in numbers; everything else remains the same.)

Why? Simple:

1) If there is no more 'backstab' modifier, Jinada's maim should trigger straight out of Wind Walk, rather than the current behaviour where the maim will not happen on such attacks. (As of 6.66b not a problem, although perhaps not the most elegant solution)

2) The extra damage will be added and multiplied in Jinada's crit, making it a lot more potent.

As such, the two skills will link together more closely, and provides BH with a sizable boost in burst damage which he needs to do his job, especially starting from mid-to-late game where his ganking is much worse and his semi-carry role comes into play (which is currently too dependant on his ganking success IMO).

To make it clearer, I do not believe this is a large buff to BH's early ganking which is already decent (at least in pubs). At best you will gain 2 x 120 = 240 bonus damage from a maxed WW and Jinada. This is already beaten by Shuriken Toss which is always a reliable and ranged source of damage, and not dependant on landing a melee attack and trying to auto-attack someone to death.

My own testmap here (Jinada being slightly buggy, but workable). Many thanks to everyone else who also took a stab at coding this!

This with WW making more spammable (15/20/25/30 sec duration + 15 sec cd -> 15 sec duration + 15/12/9/6 sec cd) and you have my full support.

I don't want to change other numbers, that should be up to Ice to decide. This idea is just to give Wind Walk more synergy with Jinada.

Disagree with teStud0's suggestion (it would make Shuriken Toss a crap kill since spammable WW = less mana for his other skills).

Agree with OP's suggestion. It would make his synergy much more stronger.

Well, I have a test-map with something like this done.But it deals agility+initial damage, apart from base damage.
And the damage is triggered, so it will not add to lifesteal or stack with buriza.
I can give the map if you want me to.

So, it works as intended, but it isn't as optimized as people would want it to be, because I only used normal GUI triggers(because I don't use JASS)

I doubt you killed it, because it's hp is set to full every 2 seconds, and you simply can't kill it, except with whosyourdaddy.
Regarding Jinada, there is a simple thing that needs to be done so it will add the maim and critical on the 1st hit:
You need to remove the backstab damage from the windwalk.This is done by setting the targets of the windwalk to none (remove all ticks).Then the attack you make will not have any backstab.
Doing this, you will critical the 30/60/90/120 damage from the windwalk, so this is a good buff.

Final score - I approve the remake.

Current WW is balanced as a initiating skill

With my suggestion, all it's cons can be nullified by making WW more spammable hence more utilizing the backstab damage -> more burst damage = better ganker.

Toss manacost needs a buff anyway.

EDIT: It's easily codable AFAIK.

I really like the idea but it would be imba if it stacked with jinada.. imagine at lvl 9 => +120 damage +100% chance 2x crit + maim , it's already 240 damage and 30% maim for just 50 mana (and without counting base damage + bonus from items)
IMO if jinada is up he shouldnt get the +damage from backstab or lowered bonus

You have set it to 4 seconds...

I tweaked the test map to...
1) Add the +damage buff to appear before striking:
--> Since the "WW a" buff is specific to a Gondar WW.
--> No need for the variables since the bonus damage is connected to the WW duration.

2) Set the duration of the +damage buff from .5s to .2s:
--> To counter high AS bonus (from possibly making the buff last for 2 attacks).
--> Long enough to last if a no AS bonus Gondar did a 180 degree turn, take a little step, then strike.
