1.24 Situation

Hm....i don´t know. The fact that 1.24 public doesn´t work excatly like 1.24 beta makes you say the patch is buggy, or can you be more specific was the term "buggy" means to you?

That's one of the reasons why it's buggy, another reason is for users on certain hardware configurations now cannot run WC3 after installing this patch.

If the return bug still works then doesn't that mean that the patch was almost a waste of time? I thought the return bug was what was letting the viruses exist in the first place. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm guessing a very fast 1.24b is approaching

Na....1.24 is definitly not a waste of time. The increased mapsize from 4MB to 8MB and the better overall performance are points that justifiy the patch.

• “Shadowing” global variables with local variables no longer is possible.
• Fixed a type conversion dealing with operators (i.e. adding a handle with an integer)
• Added the ability to store hashtable handles in a hashtable
• Added getSpellTargetX and getSpellTargetY natives
• Added a new base handle type “Agent” of which many types now extend from.
• Added a SaveAgentHandle native which can be used for saving most handle types
• Added a JASS optimization dealing with global variable change events.
• Increased max map file size from 4MB to 8MB.

The return bug isn't fixed, there is other code that can use the bug in this patch.

Well they will patch it up soon in 1.24b or something, you can`t never tell will there be any bugs until it starts working.

I believe in Blizzard - they will do their job properly trust me ...
but till then i'll wait and play 6.59d
