i thought to make the tree a unit
also place a little dot on the minimap(like wards, spin web etc.)

Wouldn't that give out the tree's location to enemies as well? unless you actually plant an invisible unit inside the tree (but would be countered by truesight because of its healthbar >.<")

I'd prefer the old eye animation really. A minimap point would be nice as well.
These owls look too flashy and distracting. |

"Oh sh*** I'm gonna die....... Oh no, it's just an owl..." Well, maybe the minimap signals could fix this...

No, not scared. Just distracted and annoyed that the skill has such a flashy animation. Big shiny fluttering owls that only you and your allies can see is already pretty illogical.

Wisps would give us the idea of gathering lumber...
And they are units, probably will have healthbars and all those other thigs people said above, added to the fact that there is a Shopper Wisp now... @Ali Radicali 2 skulls floating above my head but only visible for enemies are much more illogical. But SB has got them...

Well, maybe we could reduce the owl's size. (is it possible?)
Then we still have the nice Sentinel animation (not a meh orb) but not that "flashy" and "distracting"
