So do people see this change mostly as a buff or a nerf?

it would make the item unpredictable?
i would consider it as a buff for mind games against opponents
i would consider it as a nerf for too much mind games on yourself's half.


question:
would the dagon have a counter to know when it is fully powered??
misfiring the dagon. and counting to yourself could be very taxing.

Yes, it would have a counter. It will display the the current charge (1-30) in the little charge box on the item.

Do you guys like the idea of having the mana scale with the damage, or should it remain at a constant mana amount no matter what the damage is?

Never even considered the mana cost. Since you mention it I like the idea of having a constant mana price at any charge. This way it counter balances the ability to wtf pwn an enemy 15 seconds sooner then normal.

I think with the max charges manacost should be 120/140/160/180/200 respectively. Makes it balanced overall.

Concept is amazing. Insta t-up from me.

The idea is okay I think. Personally I think they should change Dagon so that it does not have that many upgrades, I mean who buys that many upgrades anyways. Shorter cooldown = more killstealing.

I agree with this as well, but I didn't want to suggest a complete change of dagon, just a remake of the energy burst skill.

no, it would have charges like diffusal so you would know anytime how much it is charged. even the opponent could see.
