Default [Cosmetic] Heroes' Dissipate Animation


So as we know, not many (or nearly none) heroes have the dissipate animation.
It was common for heroes in ladder warcraft to have it, but in DotA we use models that don't have this animation and they really deserve this epic animation.

For example Far Seer's animation when he dissipates and Silencers':






So I thought that with some triggers, it would be possible to add such animation to ALL heroes (maybe except some that explode etc. but that could be solved by them just dissapearing using the spell animation).

I made a test map to show this properly and also posted an image here, but it could be better to check it ingame (you select a unit and it dies):



The map itself is not perfect, but it should show nearly every hero. I added only those without dissipate, notify me if some are missing.

This could be one of those things that could add to overall feel of the game... Also I support this hero glow suggestion.

And thanks for Indrosion for allowing me to use his storm death animation suggestion in my suggestion.

Edit 1: Map significantly reworked. Added nearly all heroes without the animation (I'm not sure if I missed some).

Edit 2:
So, after reading a few comments I've got the idea of all undead type heroes to release their soul via "Lich/Abaddon style". Someone heroes that could use this are maybe Naix, Pudge and few more.
Edit 3:
Last rework on map. Undead heroes now have the animation I spoke of before. I'm not sure what animation should Morphling or Treant Protector have.

Use the attached test map to check animations of all heroes (or most of them)


What are your opinions guys?

It's just the thing that some heroes have this, some don't. It would look really better if all heroes had this... And "who cares about something" argument. You could use this argument on nearly whole visual suggestion forum. But allright, that's your opinion .

Try making them rotate a bit / spin like they do in other models.'

Open the testmap and kill Storm Spirit. It floats up! And it's animation isn't triggered

Well, while the idea itself is nice it has some major flaws.
Some models look pretty well (Stone Giant) but some don't (especially these who have weapons falling on the floor, the weapon 'dissipates' too).
Not sure if it's necessary.

You're right... But that is just one thing that cannot be fixed, but you can just take it as if their weapon was just tied to their soul too much.

I was also thinking that if the hero is on Scourge side he would have the normal fade out without dissipate and have the "soul escapes from body" animation, that only Lich, Abaddon and some more heroes have. Or it would be special to "undead type heroes" (regardless of faction).

I like this suggestion for a couple of reasons. One, I would like to see consistency between all the heroes compared to lesser units on the map, which is why I support the hero glow suggestion too.

Secondly, some heroes have a horrible death animation, mainly the ones that just dissappear. Storm's a terrible offender for this, but I think Venge does it too?

Of course, special case deaths I think should be left untouched, like Pudge's suicide.

^ Undead heroes do not dissipate.
This theme should be maintained. Lots of undead units have death animation which exclude the possibility of dissipating (Spectre, Lich, Visage, Lycan, Night Stalker to name a few). Also, why would Scourge heroes be raised up to the heavens after death?
Most scourge heroes just disappear and we see their soul (?) raising. This could be used for all Scourge heroes. There are some exceptions, however - e.g. Naga Siren, Drow Ranger, Azgalor (lolwut?).

Still, it's worth working on. I'd love to see dissipating Tiny.

Why not make some for the others right?

You'll see a lot of floating heroes on Clan Wars when they die.
