Default [Item] Omega Destroyer


Omega Destroyer



(Icon was from aoen's Vast Collection of Custom + Non-Custom Item Icons)


A weapon in the war of the Magi that was never used. It was said to devastate a whole city in it's creation. Weakened by time, The Omega Destroyer grants +60 damage, +10 int and Omega Force(active).

Omega Force

Deals 200 magic damage and burns 150 mana around an area that pushes back all enemies in a 500 aoe around the caster. All affected heroes will leak additional 75 mana per skill cast after getting hit by the skill. Mana leak lasts for 5 seconds.


Omega Force Effects:

An Area knockback similar to blinding light in a 500 aoe around the caster.
A 200 damage in a 500 aoe around the caster.
A Mana Leaking effect that makes heroes lose 75 mana per skill cast. The effect lasts for 5 seconds.
A mana burn to all heroes in a 500 aoe that instantly decreases their mana by 150.


(all units that are already affected by mana leak cannot be affected again while they're still under the effect. They will also be given a buff that makes them be unable to be affected by the Omega Destroyer's other effects for 12 seconds)

Cooldown: 35 seconds
Mana cost: 125

Recipe

= 2200
= 2400
= 600

(Turns Into)

= 5200

Bonuses gained/lost

Gained:

+14 damage
Omega force (area knockback, mana burn, mana leak, area damage)

Lost:

+10% attackspeed

Balance:
Shiva gives +5 bonus int and armor. This item removes +10% attackspeed and gives +14 damage which is a little higher than what broadsword can give.

Shiva costs only 4700 and is a really good item. This costs 5200 for a very situational item.

Shiva has an aura, this item doesn't have one.

Shiva has a slow+damage which is pretty neat. This item damages enemies+pushes them outward(a con?)+burns enemies mana(this is the exchange of the missing +10% attackspeed)+gives mana leak(something that can level up to shiva's skill)

150 mana only hurts early-mid game. 75 mana per skill cast would only hurt if your mana is less than 1000 and your skill can cool down under 5 seconds.

150 mana is 4 attacks from a hero with level 2 diffusal and a level 1 mana burn. 75 mana is 2 attacks from a hero with a level 2 diffusal.

How to use:

In a clash, suddenly poof! damage+enemy positions are destroyed+mana leak which means less mana afterwards!

When running suddenly Lion regenerates his mana, use this skill and he loses that mana!

This is a great counter to skill spammers but is really situational.

Also great for stunners with small amount of mana.

Q&A:

Q: The mana leak effect is imba! 75 additional mana for casting a skill is too imba!

A: Not really. There's something blue that costs 1700 gold that can give all heroes in a 400 aoe 175 mana and something that's 600 gold that can give you 175 mana in 3 seconds and has 3 charges. Also, the only heroes that can cast 5 consecutive skills under 5 seconds is tinker and kael.

Q: Mana burn is imba! 150 instant mana burn is imba!

Q: Knockback is imba! blinding light-like skill in item is imba!

A: Not really, for one that's actually a con. And 2, it's only 500 aoe around you, there's a small chance that this can be a really big help for your team.(except for escaping)




Pros:
+ counter to skill spammers
+ also a great counter to stunners
+ great thing for clashes.
+ counter for chanellers

Cons:
- too much mana burning(?)
- too pricey.
- the recipe is not a good combination
- anything else?

dont make it require a forcestaff. they are too different. other than that its pretty good.

I find it takes away from the general idea of force staff. Too much so for it to be included in the recipe. I STILL WANT TO PUSH SHIT INTO OTHER SHIT.

seriously, give me at least 3 heroes that can cast 3 skills under 5 seconds. and losing mana? how many skills does str stunners have? 2? 1? that's normally just paying twice of the mana cost. and it's only 5 seconds, which can be 4(if that makes it balanced). or it can be 5 and have a 40 second cooldown.

EDIT: and as you've said, nobody would want to cast a spell under those 5 seconds. it's up for them to cast a skill or not. it's not a silence, it's just simply a "pay twice for a cast" effect or something like that. They can still casts skills, area silence in an item is imba.

@asam3: You might want to catalogue the various effects of skills so far, at least it would clear up stuff like the pseudo-Silence argument here.

@Kuratz: It's only a pseudo Silence cos early on you don't have the mana to support that. Come late game, even an Energy Booster gives more mana than what you would lose.

Yea something like that is needed. Though I don't know if the damage is needed.

I think area of effect push is to good. Rather have a push wave or something for balance and to force people to be creative.

after reading this i thought of making heroes lose 100 mana per skill cast and get mana burned by 200. the damage would be removed.

and about the wave push, uhmm, no i wouldn't want that yet since mana burning heroes in an AoE is harder to do than wave an area and they get mana burned.

I like the concept of knocking back enemies around you, but I find the mana leak overpowered. 75 mana per cast after being mana burned already by 200 mana? I dont see any hero that can synergy with this item.

actually it's only 150 mana. you get damaged by 200.

Blinding Light (KotL), Mana Leak (Pugna, since it hits in an 'AoE' and not singlar targets).

Needs to be thought out, using Force Staff isnt a bad idea, I suggest trying the same path again, but find some better actives.

Hmm... I think the concept is ok. DotA really needs non-orb effect mana burning item. But using force staff is bad since force staff can be used similar to kellen dagger while this isn't at all...

The idea was to not limit this to just mana burning and area knockback effect.

Same with shiva, shiva was given armor to not limit it to just slow and mana bonus.

So my point here is to not just limit this to just plain int and mana burn effect but to also make it almost equal to shiva in a way that the armor bonus of shiva can be converted to a different kind of bonus which is not the normal "survival" bonus skilled items give. So i think the +60 damage is just and is a great equal to the +15 armor of shiva.

Hmm... Not like dagger? Well it gives the opposite of that. The concept of this to FC is the same, knockback. But not a targeted knockback that can push you to a certain location. This one pushes everyone away rather than push them to where they are facing. (which can be a great counter to magnus)

Well, maybe it's time for me to make a list of Synergies... Maybe tomorrow...
