The Human Paladin has been overshadowed by the presence of Purist Thunderwrath (Omniknight) in DotA, but not really giving the Paladin justice. In this point, I would like to present my suggestion as a request to bring Paladin to DotA:

Terence Lightherald, The Redeemer

1. Basic Statistics
Strength - 25 + 2.5
Agility - 16 + 2.1
Intelligence 18 + 1.4
Move speed of 305
Attack range of 128 (melee)

2. Advanced Statistics
Affiliation: Sentinel
Starting HP: 625 (Base HP: 150 + Strength HP Bonus [28 x 19] 475)
Starting Mana: 234 (Base MP: 0 + Intelligence Mana Bonus [18 x 13] 234)
Base damage: 53 – 61 (Base damage: 25 – 34 + strength damage bonus 28)
Armor: 3.3 (Base armor: 1 + Agility Armor Bonus [16 / 7] 2.3)

3. Background Story
Ever since the fall of the Order of the Silver Hand, the Paladins were Disenfranchised as a group by the Lordaeron Council due to their resistance to kill innocent people who are infected by the Undead plague. One Paladin, however, decided that killing the townsfolk to purge the plague out of Lordaeron, isn't enough. With his power of Divinity, he was able to forge a pact with God himself, empowering himself to bring back the killed townsmen back to life, resurrected without the infection. Thus, this Paladin, Terence Lightherald, returns to the battlefield with his warhammer, cleansing the land he calls his own with his power of Light from the heavens. Empowered by God himself, Terence battles the scourge not because he is a warrior, but because he is a Redeemer.

4. Skills


1st Skill: Ray of Light
The Redeemer summons light from the heavens to deal damage to his enemies and heal his allies. Enemies affected in this process are stunned for 1.5 seconds. Allies affected in this process have an increased attack damage for 3 seconds.
Level 1: deals 80 damage/heals 50 health. Allies gain 5% increased attack damage.
Level 2: deals 115 damage/heals 85 health. Allies gain 10% increased attack damage.
Level 3: deals 150 damage/heals 120 health. Allies gain 15% increased attack damage.
Level 4: deals 185 damage/heals 155 health. Allies gain 20% increased attack damage.

Manacost: 110/135/160/185
Cooldown: 15 seconds


2nd Skill: Divine Guidance
The Redeemer is said to be guided by God himself, so much so that he passively avoids physical attacks altogether by being ethereal for an amount of time. While ethereal, the Redeemer takes 40% increased damage from spells, cannot attack or cast a spell, but cannot be damaged by physical attacks, has a 15% increased move speed and regenerates 30 HP and MP per second.
Level 1: 8% chance to become ethereal when attacked with a normal attack. Ethereal form lasts 2 seconds.
Level 2: 16% chance to become ethereal when attacked with a normal attack. Ethereal form lasts 3 seconds.
Level 3: 24% chance to become ethereal when attacked with a normal attack. Ethereal form lasts 4 seconds.
Level 4: 32% chance to become ethereal when attacked with a normal attack. Ethereal form lasts 5 seconds.

Passive


3rd Skill: Divine Spirit
Whenever the Redeemer is in ethereal form, the power from his demi-god spirit is released outward, dealing damage to all his nearby opponents.
Level 1: deals 20 damage per second.
Level 2: deals 30 damage per second.
Level 3: deals 40 damage per second.
Level 4: deals 50 damage per second.


Ultimate: Redemption of Souls
The redeemer smashes his hammer on the ground, causing a heavenly force to ripple outward from the Redeemer in a line, damaging enemy units. Enemy creeps, Neutral creeps and Enemy Illusions killed in this process are resurrected with a cleaned soul, fighting alongside the Redeemer. All creeps are controllable by the Redeemer and lasts for only a duration of time.
Level 1: deals 215 damage, max 3 enemy units resurrected, lasts 10 seconds.
Level 2: deals 390 damage, max 4 enemy units resurrected, lasts 25 seconds.
Level 3: deals 565 damage, max 5 enemy units resurrected, lasts 40 seconds.

Manacost: 190/250/310
Cooldown: 150 seconds

Aghanim Scepter upgradable:
Level 1: deals 315 damage, max 4 enemy units resurrected, lasts 20 seconds.
Level 2: deals 490 damage, max 5 enemy units resurrected, lasts 35 seconds.
Level 3: deals 665 damage, max 6 enemy units resurrected, lasts 50 seconds.

Manacost: 160/220/280
Cooldown: 120 seconds

5. Creator's Notes
Pros of this hero:
> A good pusher, especially if equipped with Aghanim's.
> A good passive attacker, especially if equipped with Radiance. (Imagine if this hero goes ethereal and is equipped with radiance ^_^)
> Not much of a good tanker, but with his Utlimate, he becomes the ultimate tanker. c:
Cons of this hero:
> Not much of a killer early game, since the activation of the second skill can greatly weaken this hero against Int heroes.
> Not much option to avoid damage. Pretty much, you have to learn the second skill to benefit from the third skill. Again, as stressed above, the second skill of this hero makes him weak against Int heroes early game.
Additional Notes:
> The second skill in combo with the third skill might seem like too much strong of a combo, but in reality, this balances the hero, since he cannot attack. Besides, the hero is not much of a killer but a pusher, if you notice the synergy between the four skills.
> The ultimate is pretty much conformed with this hero. (The ultimate is a modification of the Paladin's Resurrection skill in War3.)
> Yes, if this hero is in ethereal form via the effect of Ghost Staff or via the effect Pugna's skill, then the third skill would take effect, but the second skill's effects would NOT.

So the Ultimate can also resurrect Illusions? What if the illusions are hero illusions? Wouldn't that make the skill a bit too much?

I don't know, but uhm, you should have read altogether? Anyhow, I can't really think of any other skill for this hero. I mean, the thunderclap skill is a basic skill, so I don't really have that much of an option. Will try to think of a new skill, nevertheless.

he's quite right, its not very original.
But it works for a lot of melee heroes you just have to change its name to something that has divine in it. Hammer smash seems out of his theme.

2nd is something like Ghost Scepter am i right ? Really good idea for a skill t-up.
3d skill IMBAH FREE RADIANCE MAKES QQ.
ULTIMATE - =O this is like OMG... Illusions too ? I think you have to change it mate maybe it's too imba i dunno it's cool but as i see the comments are like mine guys think it's imba... Dunno

Really like the hero t-up imba model, skills and everything IceFrog should consider it.

Thanks. Well, to address your comments, here are my answers:

The second skill is yes, like that of Ghost scepter; However, the skill doesn't stack with Ghost scepter. c:

The 3rd skill is yes, a free radiance, if and only if the hero is in ethereal form. ^_^ So its not really much of a big deal... c:

As for the fourth skill... I've been considering not including the illusions but it makes sense. So I guess I'll just balance the time of effect and the mana cost as well, maybe. Anyway, thanks for the comment!
