Yeah, I fully agree with this suggestion.
But I can imagine a potential argument against this: doing this for all the heroes would unncessarily fill up all the tooltips with too much detailed information. I don't think most people want to read a lot when looking at a skill :/ btw @ NHP54: Your hero suggestion icon in your signature leads to an imageshack website

Sand Kings and AA ultimates have important knowledge left out of their descriptions too.
Namely the way that their aoe's work. The fatal bonds description. Bonds several enemy units together, causing 15% of the damage dealt to any of them to be partially felt by the others. As far as I know, 15% of the damage is fully felt by the other enemies bonded, not partially.

Longer tooltips are not necessarily bad, but only if the tooltip isn't filled with too much fluff. Some tooltips use too much fluff that the real hard facts of the moves are buried. Quote:

It's just good for noobs to see the full effect of the spells...
But this suggestion is not bad. T-UP!! |

I just think that the guessing game from moves should be eliminated. There is a difference from having people figure out tricks with skills as opposed to being left in the dark with the important information.

T-UP ofc
btw, there are few lesser bugs in descriptions, like useless extra line feeds (Lich - Dark Ritual, Dark Seer - Surge) |

Unfortunately, all the proposed tooltips are a lot more wordy, which makes it harder to tell at a glance what a skill essentially does. It would be nice if you could summarise the spell's effects in the first sentence and then have any flavour-related nonsense as well as extra tidbits of info in the subsequent sentences.

It wouldn't hurt to mention the damage type. For example, a lot of people don't realize that Slardar's Slithereen Crush is physical damage. We can't assume all people are going to flock to the forums to check this stuff, so why not just have it all there for the player? |
