Default [IMPLEMENTED]-[Tweak] Sprout


It`s a small suggestion to give existing sprout more room and flexibility.

As of now, Sprout can only be targeted on existent unit. It should be made in that way that you could target both ground&unit instead. Just small tweak, Trees should be able to grow anywhere (not just unit targeted), useful for blocking passages (choke points) and gives Furion some versatility that`s all.

Any thoughts?

Pros: more versatile and can be used to block paths.
Cons: With Furion's cast animation it would be easy to miss the spell (not catch anyone in the trees).

this would make it harder to catch people at the edge of his range like you can do now sometimes. make it also unit castable

On the fence with this one. On the one hand it would give Sprout a couple of extra tricks (blocking choke points, giving a decent amount of flight vision for scouting, etc.) but does he need it? Dunno. Holding vote for now.

he doesn't have a real disable. afaik. even ensnare maybe better than sprout.
and most people only get a level of sprout first. then max other skills. then finally sprout.

I don't see how this is relevant to this thread or my post, other than maybe saying he needs buffs.

Err... how about this? If there's a unit inside the AoE, it will trap the unit. But if there's no unit inside the AoE, it will grows the tree "inlcuding" the middle area. Since it'll looks weird to have blank area when you didn't trap anyone

Yeah, I was thinking exactly the same way as you do. This is general concept of how it could be remade, but I`ll leave all the specific spell details and mechanic to Icefrog (off course, if this ever gets implemented).

Well, it`s buff actually, but not that great after all. Sprout is still countered by:

- quelling blade
- tangos
- Rexxar axes
- various other miscellaneous spells who destroy trees as passive effect

So it will make Furion a bit more picked, will produce much more potential strategies and generally increase the efficiency of the hero by indirectly buffing him.
