I have a question about my role, Lifestealer. If I infest a sentinel hero do I get his abilities?

Answer: Nope. You can only take his "form" and "affiliation information". But his "actual affiliation" and "ability" are not taken.

If i'am lynched i can't do anything at night, right?

Answer: If you are lynched/feasted/killed, you are eliminated in the whole game and cannot give any strategy input.

Overview

A new clash has begun. The scourge ghouls, together with their heroes, have started to destroy the sentinel village once again. The sentinel heroes observed this tragic event and decided to confront their enemies. But who are the enemies? If something is not done, the entire village population will be infested and killed!


Basic Concept

DotA Lynch Game is a game of deception.

Every person is assigned a role at the start of the game. You are randomly sided with either the sentinel or the scourge. During the night, the scourge team secretly feasts one person from the sentinel. During the day, the village players must figure out who is the scourge and bring them into justice!

You will play as either scourge or sentinel! Your goal is to converse with other players and advance toward your own goals. Your skills in persuasion and lying will determine the course of the game.

Both sentinel and scourge are having heroes that have special ability. Each heroes should be used to benefit your own team.

The scourge knows every member of the team and can communicate away from the village. They can eliminate each of the sentinel to win. Once the scourge outnumbers or equals the sentinel, the scourge wins.

The sentinel doesn't know who are truly affiliated in the team. They need to decide in the whole village, together with the scourge, acting to be affiliated in the sentinel, on who to lynch during the day. Upon eliminating all scourge members, the sentinel wins.

This the game of uninformed majority against the informed minority, ie the good and the bad guys.


Standard Roles and Heroes

These are the roles that may appear in this version. All or few may be used depending on the number of participants.

Note: All characters are villagers and can vote to lynch; All scourges are ghouls and can vote to feast. Everyone's role is hidden in the game but reveals upon death.

Sentinel

Villagers (Lynch - Day Active)
The villagers can discuss to choose who to lynch during the day. Lynched player will be eliminated in the game.

Holy Knight (Test of Faith - Night Active)
The Holy Knight has been blessed by the power of faith. Upon casting 'Test of Faith' into a player, the Holy Knight will discover his target's affiliation whether it is sided with the sentinel or the scourge during the night.

Omniknight (Purification - Night Active)
The Omniknight obtained the sacred power of protection. Upon casting 'Purification' into a player, the Omniknight will save his target from any cause of death during the night.

Pandaren Brewmaster (Drunken Haze - Night Active)
The Pandaren Brewmaster is skilled with the power of disability. Upon casting 'Drunken Haze' into a player, the Pandaren Brewmaster will drown his target into alcohol making it too drunk to act during the night.

Dwarven Sniper (Assassinate - Night Active, Ultimate)
The Dwarven Sniper has mastered his vigilance. Upon casting 'Assassination' into a player, the Dwarven Sniper can instantly kill his target during the night.

Centaur Warchief (Great Fortitude - Night Passive, Ultimate)
The Centaur Warchief has become a tough warrior all over the years. The Centaur Warchief cannot be killed by any means during the night.

Scourge

Ghouls (Feast - Night Active)
The ghouls can discuss to choose who to feast during the night. Feasted player will be eliminated in the game.

Lifestealer (Infest - Night Active, Ultimate)
The Lifestealer has been overpowered by his greed. Upon casting 'Infest' into a player, the Lifestealer will consume the identity of his target, including its affiliation "form" (not the substance of being affiliated into the sentinel).

Spectre (Spectral Dagger - Night Active)
The Spectre is being covered by darkness. Upon casting 'Spectral Dagger' into a player, the Spectre will discover the character/identity of his target during the night.

Bane Elemental (Nightmare - Night Active)
The Bane Elemental is capable of manipulating the night. Upon casting 'Nightmare' into a player, the Bane Elemental will lull his target into nightmare disabling its abilities during the night.

* 'Night Active' ability is inherent and will only take effect during the night it was used.
* 'Night Active, Ultimate' ability are usable once per game.
* 'Night Passive' ability might only take effect once per game.
* 'Night Passive, Ultimate' ability is permanent to the character.


General and Additional Rules

1. This game is a simplified version. Night actions are allowed to be submitted at any time of the day and it will take effect for the next day. Whole day phase is approximately 23 hours while the last hour will be allocated for emergency changes of actions during the night phase.

2. The game will initially start at day phase for 46 to 47 hours of village conversations. After the day phase, a bonus of 1 to 2 hours will be allowed for the night actions. After the bonus hour, next day will proceed and results of night actions will occur. Only the initial day lasts for 2 days. Preceding days last for a maximum of 1 day only.

3. Actions during the day and night with the option to choose no one will be allowed, such as no lynching and no killing.

4. LyLo is the term when no-lynching will result into sentinel loss. MyLo is the term when you can still choose to lynch no one allowing the mafia to kill a player, narrowing down the suspects. ML or MisLynch is the term when the sentinel can afford a wrong lynch.

5. Only active players are allowed. If you want to join, you should atleast be present on the last hour of the day phase for a better decision on lynches, or for emergency changes in actions during the night phase.

6. Mechanics can be asked for clarifications. Only acceptable questions are answered. For example: Does 'Purification' stop 'Assassinate'?

7. Any other means of communication, such as PMs, e-mails, messengers, aside from those provided by the game master will be considered cheating. The scourge can only communicate through a special way to be provided by the game master. The sentinel can only communicate in the village, the thread itself.

8. Any dead players are not allowed to speak, specially those kinds of inputs that will affect the gameplay of the living players.

9. Everyone should reach their goal in accordance to your winning conditions. Some roles may contain conversion. If you were bribed to be converted by the scourge (for advance games), your winning condition may change and betraying the sentinel is still a legitimate action.

10. For the game reference, you are not allowed to delete or edit any of your post within the entire discussion in this thread, unless permitted or demanded to do so.

11. Claiming your identity/role can be allowed as long as you will not provide the PM sent to you by the game master when a counterclaim occurs.

12. Any violation, if proven to be guilty, might cause warning or instant disqualification in the game.

13. If you have read the rules, you should sign up by typing this keyword to make sure you have read the rules: "I'm in because <YOUR REASON HERE>." Also, post your most dedicated time for the game so I can tally them up (atleast an hour is enough).

Examples:
* I'm in because I want to try the game. I can play around 1PM GMT time.
* I'm in because I think this game is fun. Only 6PM GMT time is my vacant.
* I'm in because I am bored. I will dedicate 8AM GMT +8 for this.
