I still think "Tidal Seal" would be best.
"Slardar places a powerful oceanic seal on an enemy, rusting its armor and granting true sight over it for the duration." T-UP

Really good. I also think that "Amplify Damage" is one of the most uncreative (that word even exists? o-o) skills ever. T-Up
EDIT: Great Suggestion Super Sheep. T- UP for "Tidal Seal".

I say Disintegrate would be nice. It has a watery-theme, doesn't sound exceptionally dramatic, and it gets to keep the [G] hotkey.
It not sounding dramatic is in line with both how Slardar's skills are named (i.e. Bash, Sprint; his skills are all pretty directly named), and because of the fact that it's not so much a "powerful" spell as it is a "utility" spell (it doesn't kill or dramatically change the tide of battles, but it does tilt the scales alot). Disintegrate sounds potent, but not as destructive as the other suggested skill names are.

I disagree with the Disintegrate stuff, in most RPGs disintegrate is a most powerful damaging spell.

In my opinion, it's a CLASSIC, don't change the name.
T up on cosmetic overhaul though. Right now it's a great plot hole device, it's just pure awesomeness, but if you give it realistic properties, it will most likely turn into a gimmick. "lol magical rust that makes you visible" etc |

Anyway, this is great. I think Supersheep's name and tooltip would fit great. Succinct, informative, and eloquent. If I might suggest something, how about a subtle watery splash appearing on the affected unit whenever it is attacked?

I'm refering to the skill name "Amplify Damage' it's so ambiguous and non descriptive, leaving the epicness up to your imagination. It was present in Diablo 2 and it was iconic.
Trying to add realistic properties to the "spell" will only hinder it and make it seem like a joke. I dont know how you would incorporate rusting enemy armor with true sight. Bright Faerie Fire = easy to see/spot, but not water theme ![]() Supersheep's Tidal seal tooltip is well written, but the skillname itself sounds horrible. Also, dont you guys love how Amplify Damage rolls off your tongue? Op's animation is great, we just need more suggestions for a good skill name to rival Amplify Damage in epicness. |

Both CotD and Tidal Seal sounds ok to me... T-Up for the visual

Nice effect and description, but I think the name is too long. If you like those words so much, try to turn them around, like Depth's Curse, otherwise I think you should change it. But you could improve the effect a bit: I think this pusling isn't that fitting, it doesn't give you this liquid/watery feeling. Make it more like droplets moving outwards or falling down (in the style of a vertical Double Damage effect).
