I don't think it's codeable...
only by using metamorphosis, where you actually transform into the same unit but with magic type attack |

hmmm i dont really know what to think of this.. i like it, but at the same time think its silly
.. i mean it would completely change the game of dota ( in a sense )

either what kanzakill said or just change the attack of the hero from physical to magic. which is possible. i've seen it in an RPG map called "master crafters final conquest"

I'm not sure if this is really viable. It sounds good, it works good for the game region you mean it for [lategame], BUT the problem would be simple: Will you be sure that magic resistance < armour by then?
If it is, then you have my support for this concept.

Of course. Normally, people only buy hood, since that's the only item that gives "decent" magic resistance.
So the only thing that will lessen this item's effectiveness is the natural 20% magic resistance of heroes lategame. and seriously, who buys magic resistance for lategame? they actually just discards HoD and buy tank or damage items. Magic resistance is actually neglected by alot lategame. |

Don't listen to the idiots. Almost everything is codeable. All you have to do is negate the damage caused by the unit and then re-deliver it as magic damage. Done by triggers, of course.

Many spells in Dota are dummy based. The only problem I see with this one is that when units are ethereal, you still won't be able to attack them (because it's hardcoded that way), so it's still useless in that sense.
