In starting order or overall?

Huskar basically needs two things, a device for surprise attacks: lothars or dagger, and, Armlet.

Armlet abuse is pretty much essential. You use your ultimate to drop HP points triggering your IAS and Damage bonuses then you immediately activate Armlet to offset your loss of HP and further buff IAS and Damage outputs.

Late game items includes Strenght or stats-improving items such as HoT.

That's him in a nutshell. Lothar recommended for pubs.

You can look for them at game strategy forum

Basically, it's treads, hood of deviance, and vanguard

Then you can get any item you desire

Sometimes BKB is advisable. Especially in team fights where you no longer gank. You do not want to lose your own hp but rather slow enemies down and tank.

Otherwise you might just eat a hailstorm of nukes or stuns and not do anything while being dpsed to death.

I also recommend a dagger. Armlet sometimes.

I tend to go for treads, HotD, armlet, dagger, satanic in that order. Lifesteal is incredible for keeping your health up (don't forget to still use spears early in fights though!), armlet is an awesome DPS source with amazing synergy, dagger is the best way to catch and kill your opponents, and satanic boosts strength for IV and gives you burst regen when necessary. If you're having trouble with spells, try substituting BKB for Satanic.

My item build
Early Game:
3*2 tango = 6 tango
bracer
power treads
vanguard (must be rushed)

Mid Game:
power treads

bracer
Aghanim's Scapter [(for fast cooldown and great damage of his last skill (LIFEBREAK)]

Late Game:
Boots of travel
Heart of tarrasque (x2)
Assault Cuirass
Vanguard
Aghanim's Scepter

FOR ME ITS THE GREATEST ITEM BUILD FOR HIM (note: double heart for long life)

I tested it with -test!!!

Why so many people get Vanguard on him... The ranged block isn't good, It provides no strength, meaning it won't help Inner Vitality, and it doesn't increase your DPS by a bit. If more HP is needed get more str instead.

Treads, Helm of Iron Will --> Armlet, Dagger/Lothars, BKB, Satanic. Sounds good IMO.

Power Treads
Mordigan
HotD/BKB/Dagger (in any order)

+ Anything you could farm later. (no need in Aghanim, cause you'll deal more damage with rightclick than with ulti improvement)

P.S.
Quote:
Hood/Vanguard/
Pubbish FAIL. Don't ever farm those items, EVER.

Pubbers think they will deal less self-damage with Burning Spears, if they have Hood.

Huskar has very small HP amount. If you play against lots of disables or nukes, Hood is just a joke. BKB or Mordigan is must have. Else you will just feed and no need to pick Huskar then...

Because he has piss poor base STR, +STR . At level 11 he still has less than 1k hp. There is no point in playing Huskar, if you drop dead eating any amount of more than one nuke.

Stacking bracers is out of the question, since early game consumables dont cover the amount of hp you loose during the game, and IV is horribly mana ineffective. That leads to the need of some source of stable regeneration. Vanguard just happens to be a cheap solution to adress both problems.

In certain cases you can go a Urn + Headress route. It comes in affordable pieces and leaves the path open to extend to Pipe or Mekansm.

Either way, in semi-coordinated games, I find it it undesirable to get BKB too early. After all, you want to eat up a fair amount of enemy spells anyway. That is why I aim for tanking up pure HP and/or general endurance items. With that being said, BKB surely should be considered in case the game drags along.

On a side note, when things go really smooth, Treads --> Urn --> Blink will usually end the game.

I'm seeing some fail here...
Anyway.

Personally I only get one level of Burning Spears to harass right away. It's sufficient to kill people who don't know how to deal with it.
Rather than building on that, I go for Lifesteal. I find it to be superior, but both are viable. I've had most success with 1 spear or none at all, thouh. You get extra stats and lifesteal has great synergy.

As for the build:
Start building Treads/Armlet early. Armlet is a must, and is easy to farm, and the components give great bonuses. However, you may want to get lifesteal first.
For this, the only choice is HotD. Of course you'll be upgrading it to Satanic later.
After these three items, get Scepter. Then Satanic, and finally Heart.
With this, you can pretty much have Armlet on permanently. There's still room for more items; dagger for catching up, and perhaps AC for more more tanking effeciency... Effective HP, I remember some guide on it... Or BKB so you won't get interrupted.

So yeah, with Lifesteal + your heal, you'll be able to tank just about anything. The less HP you get, the more life you steal, so you can stay alive no matter how low you are. BKB helps here, but as long as your heal is active, you should outlast most stuns, and proceed to rape as they wear off. It's just insanely good.

tl;dr scrap spears for Lifesteal

Helm of Iron Will already covers regeneration for him. Don't forget Helm(s) can later be made into Armlet and HotD. Getting Vanguard doesn't really pay off on him since he is ranged, and it delays your Armlet (Armlet has 5 hp/s regen too). And an early Armlet is much, much scarier than an early Vanguard. If you want some additional HP just get a Vit booster and it is made into HoT later.

getting only lvl 1 burning spear is the most idiot and retarded thing i heard ever. burning spear is ONLY good at early-mid game, late game it loses effectiveness, there you should get lifesteal.

Default Re: Huskar item build

to start:
gauntlet, circlet, tangs and a salve

Boots
ROH
pt-str
finish bracer somewhere
finish hood- fraid you got to have it so 2 nukes dont just kill you.

now one of 3 items here depending on what your doing and what you need
1)dagger for ganking
2)armlet if your good
3)heart if you just want to never die 1v1 again.

i personally like heart the most but all 3 are good.

vanguard: horrid damage block.. gives nothing but hps.. 2 ogre axes are better.. because you already got health regen from hood and EHP's from hood.

when you have spare money upgrade your bracer to a jango.. its efficient

I have played a life stealing husk before.. basically you accept that your not a great ganker early game because you dont get spears.. instead you just use your passive and IV. Its lower DPS than spears.. but much more survivability because you really can do the husk thing of taking 2-3 nukes and fighting at 20% hps. But you basically having to commit to a farming husk..

Early game get some basic stuff, but if you can, get a refresher late. Ulti takes 50% of the hit-points, and with agha 65 %. I know magic resistance but its still 50+50 magic dmg = 75% after reduction. Or 65+65=130 = 97,5 almost instant kill.
