Default [ITEM] Baizou Kai



Baizou Kai (3350)

A Sword that goes from freezing cold to burning heat in an instant.

Recipe:
Crystalys (2150)
Broad sword(1200)
Total (3350)

+55 damage
Switch (active)
Freeze/Burn (passive)


Switch
Switches between Freeze/Burn. Cooldown 6 seconds.
(Changes item icon and visual effect)

Freeze
Slows enemy movement speed by 8% on attack. Stacks up to 4 times.
Lasts 3 seconds.
Orb Attack

Burn
Reduces enemy armor by 1.5 on attack. Stacks up to 4 times.
Lasts 3 seconds.
Orb Attack

Changelog:
-Changed damage from 70 to 60
-Changed burn damage from 30 to 20 per second
-Changed critical from 10%/3.5x to 20%/1.75x
-Removed critical
-Added an upgrade.
-Tweaked numbers on both abilities
-Changed Burn from DPS to armor reduce
-Changed passive form.

There is no 100% on hit slow item for mid price range, there is no item with damage per second ability and no item with switchable passive. Crystalys has crit ability and it's logical to add it to this item, at best it's a very unreliable ability, worse than buriza's in all aspects. Also Crystalys is only used in one recipe.

2x crystalys in the recipe = fail
10% chance for 3.5x crit = overpowered. <= Buriza (5800 gold) 20% for 2.5x crit
The final item has a good concept, though.

The item certainly has a great concept but numbers need some fixing (like crit strike) also the burn ability in my mind is overpowered since you hit someone 90 dmg total over 3 seconds and as you keep hitting him the timer keeps restarting. After 10 seconds you've done an extra 300 dmg, which is a lot in some situations.

I am going to hold my vote for now

I dont see how 2x crystalys is a fail, fits to the concept that this weapon is forged from two swords and since after getting 2x crystalys you are only 600 gold away from the final item I see no problem with it.

10% 3.5x crit is weaker than buriza's both in reliability and average damage.

I changed the damage to 20 and reduced the base damage to 60 for balance and to get more distance to buriza's damage output.

how about sange+crystalys? Would fit the orb thing and would be a nice addition for sange, who needs it badly.


3.5x critical AND +60 damage, for that ammount of gold, is utterly imbalanced. Think of Buriza's +53 dmg and 2.4x critical that is more expensive.

Rather keep the 1.5x crit, but give a better proc chance.

I don't want to add sange and str bonus to the item.

Heroes who have critical chance don't get items with critical chance, and heroes who don't have critical get only one item with critical chance. Would they get this one over Buriza?

2x Crystalys:
19% change to deal +75% bonus damage, +70 damage
Average +14,25% bonus damage per hit

Buriza:
20% chance to deal +140% bonus damage, +75 damage
Average +28% bonus damage per hit

Baizou Kai:
10% chance to deal +250% bonus damage, +60 damage
Average +25% bonus damage per hit

Suggested:
20% chance to deal +50% bonus damage, +60 damage
Average +10% bonus damage per hit
30% chance to deal +50% bonus damage, +60 damage
Average +15% bonus damage per hit
40% chance to deal +50% bonus damage, +60 damage
Average +20% bonus damage per hit

With proc chance 30% using Freeze ability, this would be damage-wise worse item than before purchasing the recipe. Are the weapon passives worth it?

Very good concept in terms of switch-able fire/ice

but single target burn and crit both add damage which is kinda boring and slowing a single target is also not that interesting.

I think its more interesting if you implement it like Admiral's tide bringer so that every x seconds it does a aoe burning/freezing slash that burns/slows all enemies in an area, and on that big slash there's chance to also aoe crit

Skadi grants Lots of stats, HP and Mana. Skadi slows 30% MS 20% AS. So if you are after those you buy skadi, if you wish to just get damage over survivability u get this.

What kind synergy are you looking foward to seeing? Like Buriza's 'no orbs, only critical' synergy? Give me an example of an orb effect that could fit this item and synergize with the critical.

personally i'd rather go with mechanics that are quite rare, like 100% guaranteed special attack every x seconds of admiral/bounty-hunter, instead of overloaded concepts like slow and % chance crit. there are too many heroes/items that has it already
