[MODEL] Gem of Truesight

As I was playing with a hero carrying Gem of Truesight and dropped my gem, I saw this.



The Gem's icon is green, yet the portrait picture shows a purple gem?

Besides, in the image below, the real model is green, but it still has some purple things dropping of from it as it was tinted to 0 255 0 and those purple droppings cannot be tinted.


The replacement model is on the right. The gem on the left is barely visible (especially in team fights), and the new gem is on the right.


What i would suggest is to use this model- Doodads/Eye of Sargeras

It is not tinted, but rescaled to 0.65 to roughly be around the current gem size.

and here is it's portrait picture. I know nobody really truely clicks on the gem, but this do count and can be improved right?

[+] No more purple portrait and purple stuff dropping from Gem.
[+] The model has "eyes".
[+] It's green, untinted and no MSI.

It's on purpose that it's hard to spot. And who clicks the gem to see his portrait, anyway?

Nothing to worry about. t-null for now, since I'm bored I'll play around with the eye of sargeras (your suggested model) a bit to make it look like the actual gem.

Okay well I edited the model slightly. (tinted to 177 177 177, scaled to 0.61, edited model can be accessed ingame via the import manager). If anyone asks for it, it's also possible to edit the current gem model to make the purple-ish particles go away. Yes, the portrait is fucked up. It's not supposed to look like anything, no1 will click on the gem anyway.



Wait for the gem to get destroyed to see it's death animation. It looks very good and it makes sense aswell, the players can see the death of a gem better.

Great! First of all your right about the window showing purple.
And yea this is more visible.

In pubs many times they don't even realize that the enemy who just died dropped the gem.And no, I'm sure this was not intentional.

I had read the original thread where the gem idea was suggested and it is just that the tinted model is hard to see in battles etc.

In competitive they anyways will easily realize whether the enemy dropped gem or not.

maybe it WAS intentional that ice put the gem that way. enemies can have a hard time noticing, giving your team a better chance to retrieve it. also, you can alt+click to tell your teammates where the gem is.

I have had this experience SO many times in pubs that I drop a gem (I'm the only one who buys it) and then I Ping, Shout in chat, Do whatever I can do to tell my team to pick the gem.

They just don't listen and then the enemy comes and takes it or destroys it.

Many times this happens because they don't even see the gem or the other times because they feel its not necessary to drop their wraith band for a gem.

it is not part of my suggestion, but the model has a pointy ass, while the icon clearly shows it doesnt.

I don't really care... I don't like the current, but the suggested one is not really a gemstone for me, but it looks good.
