Default [REWORK] Charge of Darkness v.2 *Better than ever*




Charge of Darkness

Barathrum releases a being from his shadows that charges to an unsuspecting foe. Anyone in it way will be stunned and knocked back at the side for a brief moment. When the shadow has reached the target, Barathrum then merges with the shadow and shocks his opponent into an immobile state for some time. Enemies can only see the buff indicator when he is near his target. The shadows' MS increase by 5% per 200 units traveled.

Level 1 - All enemy units in his way will be knocked back by 140 units (0.95 sec stun). Stuns the target for 1.4 seconds
Level 2 - All enemy units in his way will be knocked back by 140 units (0.95 sec stun). Stuns the target for 1.8 seconds
Level 3 -All enemy units in his way will be knocked back by 140 units (0.95 sec stun). Stuns the target for 2.2 seconds
Level 4 - All enemy units in his way will be knocked back by 140 units (0.95 sec stun). Stuns the target for 2.6 seconds

In Depth Explanation
• Casting Range is Global
• Target will become aware of the charge (a buff is visible in the status bar) when Barathrum/Shadow is within 2500 distance.
• Gives vision on cast and true sight near the end over the target.
• Barathrum/Shadow can run through units and trees, although he will still obey standard pathfinding through the terrain.
• The Shadow's initial MS depends on Barathrum's current MS.
• The Shadow also has Empowering Haste and also benefits from it
• Allies of Barathrum (and himself) will see an animation over the head of the target.
• The movement speed bonus from Charge remains for 2 seconds after impact with the target.
• When the Shadow has reached the target, Barathrum is instantly teleported to the shadow's location and replaces it.
• The Shadow is untargetable.
• The Shadow/Barathrum has an AoE of 175.

Since it is a "Charge", the knock back part makes it concept-wise
The Knock Back works like Greater Bash. It stuns and slowly knocks back the affected unit, except the unit will be knocked back is at the side
It's stun duration and knock back distance is as long and far as a Lvl 1 Greater Bash
The targeted unit does not get knocked back, like the current one
No worry of it being imba since its CD is still 40, which is a fairly long time


Cooldown: 40 sec
Mana Cost: 75

When Barathrum has used CoD and still has not used Shadow Merge, Charge of Darkness' Icon changes into this

Barathrum channels his energies for a moment. After 2 seconds, Barathrum merges with the shadow he has summoned, gaining all the additional MS it has gained and still charges at the target. In Depth Explanation
• Barathrum channels for 2 seconds before this skill activates. Stopping the channeling will waste the cooldown of this skill.
• Barathrum will still countinue charging and gaining MS if he uses this ability
• Just like the old Charge of Darkness, When maximum speed increase is achieved, Barathrum becomes magic immune for the rest of the charge.

Love the idea and AFAIK, it has been suggested several times. Why not add a little damage to it? Wouldn't hurt right?

Adding damage would make it similar to Shukuchi.
The Knocked back duration/distance is fine, right?

t-up. it is quite balance. because not many ones dumb enough to not jump to a side when he is in the way of a raging bull waving a lantern. i wonder why if it was suggested b4 but not implemented.

well i personally don't think he is "better". his main problem is team-presence. and unless you make the AoE for Charge big enough to hit someone else in a team fight, this remake is more towards logic and creep and... fun

Nice Rework.
This will provide Barathrum a little more team presence.
He also gains an escape mechanism
And, I'm somehow sure that it's balance because of that fairly long CD>

Very realistic, why not add some bruises effect to the affected units. It will look like wound by Bull charge and add some humour.
