Overview
The ghouls continued to roam around the world spotting another village. Being a peaceful village, the ghouls blended in to its environment hiding themselves.
The village is alarmed by this sudden invasion. The Sentinel heroes came to the rescue, trying to disarm the ghouls. All the villagers should help them figure out who the ghouls are!
...
Basic Concept
DotA Lynch Game is a game of logic and deception.
The Sentinel team starts from majority while trying to figure out who the ghouls are through logic and with the help of their heroes. Each of the Sentinel-sided roles doesn't know who the others are. They will try to eliminate a player from the Scourge team through lynching, eliminating either an enemy or an ally. They win when all the village threats are eliminated.
The Scourge team starts from minority while trying to blend in through deceiving the villagers and with the help of their heroes. They will come to privately discuss knowing each other as well. They are trying to eliminate a player from the Sentinel team through feasting while trying to avoid being lynched until they become majority. They win when they equalize or outnumber all the other participants.

Comprehensive Guide
This is an in-depth guide on how to play the game. The game has 6 stages from registration until the game ends. For newbies, please do not skip reading this part.
- Registration
This is the very first stage of the game. During this stage, forum members trying to register into the game should comply to the policy of registration before being accepted. When enough number of participants are met, the Registration thread will be converted into a Confirmation thread. The Registration stage usually lasts for a week.
- Confirmation
After the Registration stage, all accepted participants will receive a private message from the game host. They should confirm their registration within 24 hours if they still wish to continue playing the game. This is to ensure the activeness of each participants.
- Role Distribution
When all accepted participants are confirmed (or after 24 hours of registration confirmation), the Confirmation thread will be converted into a Role Distribution thread or its specific stage. Role Distribution has three sub-stages.
- Preparation. During Preparation, the game host will analyze and choose the roles to be used into the game to fit to the number of confirmed participants. Then the roles will be randomly assigned to all participants through Random.org's List Randomizer.
- Distribution. During Distribution, all confirmed participants will receive a private message from the game host containing their role information.
- Confirmation. After all roles are sent. Each participants are required to confirm their roles to make sure that they already received it.
- Game Preparation
When all roles are confirmed, the Role Distribution thread will be converted into a Preparation thread. The game thread, game blog, and required documents will all be prepared and organized.
- Commencement
When all items required for the game to start are all established, the game will commence. A new thread will be created prior to the commencement of the game. This will be used for the game's discussions throughout the whole game. The Preparation thread will be converted into a Game Lobby thread. The game has four phases that cycles throughout the game, usually starting at daytime.
- Day. Day phase usually lasts 42 hours. During the day, everyone should come out and discuss about the game. The Sentinel-sided roles are trying to figure out and eliminate all the Scourge-sided roles. While the Scourge-sided roles are blending in to avoid being caught as well as trying to eliminate Sentinel-sided roles. Everyone will also vote for the Lynching process of the game. At the end of the day, the person to be lynched will be decided.
- Sunset. Sunset phase usually lasts 3 hours. During the sunset, the person to be lynched is already established. Everyone, including the accused person, can still discuss with each other. At the end of the sunset, the accused person will be lynched revealing his identity to everyone. Lynching process is already disabled during this phase. Sunset is basically the phase of processing the day actions.
- Dusk. Dusk phase usually lasts 3 hours. During the dusk, all living players can still discuss about the game. Lynching process is still disabled during this phase. After the sunset, the following day will proceed revealing the feasted players. Dusk is basically the former night extension.
- Night. During the night, the Scourge team will privately discuss with each other trying to eliminate Sentinel-sided roles through Feasting process. Heroes with night actions are awake during this phase to perform their actions. Actions done during the night will take effect on the same night. Results of actions are released on the following day. Night phase usually lasts 47 hours. The last hour to complete the 2-day cycle is for processing night actions. Night phase is the sum of the day, sunset, and dusk phase. Check the illustration here (link).
- Game Over
This is the final stage of the game. The game ends when a team or individual meets his winning condition. When the game is over, the winning team and the winners are declared. All roles, night actions, and private discussions in the GoogleDocs are revealed publicly for game reference. The thread will be closed. End-game discussions should be in the Game Lobby.

Policies and Guidelines
Read this section carefully to avoid any infractions. Violations are subjected to just punishments.
Posting Standards
- Freedom of Speech. You are allowed to say all game-related ideas. You are not limited in your speeches as long as it should be existing in the village. This includes claiming.
- English only. No other language is allowed. Everyone should only speak in English.
- Do not hide it. Do not hide messages in invisible texts or spoiler.
- Fixed posting. Do not edit nor delete your post.
- No Off-Topic posting. Avoid cluttering the game-thread. Off-topic posts are not tolerated. There is a game lobby for discussions and questions that do not relate to the current flow of the game. Such posts will be deleted.
- Ignore them. Do not quote, respond, nor give attention to violating posts. Since they are supposed to be deleted, do not extend their existence.
- Default styles. As much as possible, for proofreading and uniformity, use the default font color and style in posting.
- Avoid post addition. Post addition is a forum feature that automatically amend your post into the last post within 60 seconds or less. Avoid it by just editing your last post or waiting for more than a minute to activate double-posting. Simply because it doesn't look good.
Voting Standards
- Voting standard. If you want your vote to be counted, highlight only the name and color it with green.
Example: DLG|Master or Let's all vote DLG|Master.
- Unvoting. Unvoting can be done by posting "..." in green. It is not necessary, but it will be useful in some situations.
Example: I would like to unvote, ... or simply ...
- Force Lynching. Force lynching is the right to end the night immediately as forcibly as long as all others actions are submitted. It can be exercised in bolded lynching and finalized when half of the players united into one lynch target.
Example: DLG|Master or Let's forcibly lynch DLG|Master.
- Votes are changeable. You can change your votes or unvote anytime during the day only. You don't need to unvote when re-voting. Just vote in green as if it was your first vote.
Other Policies and Guidelines
- Buzzing. Buzzing is a feature that alerts one or more citizens to read a certain post. The game host will send a notification to them including the post's link. It can be linked to previous post that was never noticed. The format should be @Name in bolded white.
Example: @DLG|Master I want you to read the post here (link).
- Play to win. Game-throwing is the term when someone is intentionally doing actions that can make his affiliation lose, such as lynching self that will result in ending the game and losing your side. So play in accordance to your current win condition.
- Claiming. Claiming is part of the game as well as counter-claiming. If you think that there is a need in claiming a role, you are not discouraged to do so as long so you will not quote nor provide screenshots about the role distribution or any PM from the game host.
- Graveyard and Strangers. Dead players, as well as unregistered forumers, are not allowed to speak in all kind of discussions (except the Graveyard Meeting Place). Please avoid posting atleast once when you are already dead.
- No other places. Discussions about the game should remain in your respective areas, such as village thread and other documents.
- Sportmanship. Sometimes the game will be in intense heat and discussion. Since this game is also about arguing, don’t be overly sensitive. I will not intervene in disagreements unless I am asked to.
- Be active. As much as possible, keep yourself active into the game. Sometimes too much inactivity will result into game-throwing.
- Night actions. Do not fail to submit your command in the proper format. Or else it will not be accepted. Failure to submit your action will subject you for replacement. There is no way you can forget it since you have enough time to send it in. You can submit your action in the game blog which will be available when the game starts.
- We are not at Epicmafia. Some trategies and techniques may be adopted from the site called epicmafia.com. But as much as possible, let's keep it our way. Addressing your arguments to such epicmafia styles/strategies/actions is not allowed. Explain your logic why did you do things and not because that's what is done in epicmafia (since it is also done there for a logic).
- You are you. As much as possible, do not change your nickname during an on-going game. Also, take care of your account and avoid from being banned. Banned participants are automatically replaced.
- Unstated guidelines. If there are such unstated guidelines, do not take advantage of it. Inform me so I can add it if it needs to be.
- In this thread. Post something that clearly states your desire to join for this round.
- Infractions. The game host will have to analyze each circumstances if it deserves a warning. Infractions will be granted privately. Serious violations, or failure to comply to your pledge of activity and sincerity, are subject to forum infractions such as Trolling or Spamming.

@DLG. I think writing the night actions in the blog is not a good idea. Just a suggestion. I want to stick with the good ol' pm.
