Default [Ability Concept] Curse of Energy





This Spell puts a buff on the target hero. Whenever a cursed hero uses mana, you will gain a percentage of it and the casting hero looses additional mana.

  • Lvl 1: 6 seconds, 15% of used mana, looses 6%
  • Lvl 2: 8 seconds, 30% of used mana, looses 9%
  • Lvl 3: 10 seconds, 45% of used mana, looses 12%
  • Lvl 4: 12 seconds, 60% of used mana, looses 15%
Instead of a duration the buff could be limited by the number of spells used.

Selection: Single target, or a small aoe like maledict.

Mana Cost: 115/130/145/170 (or hero dependant)
Duration (if buff): 6/8/10/12
CD: 60

alternate1: it could be an aura too, but much weaker and maybe with no negative effect. Also the name needs a change, but i think thats not the problem.

alternate2: A ward is also possible, like the ward of pugna.

alternate3: Item based

alternate4: Activatable: you can turn the spell on/off - it costs X life and/or mana per second

General im not sure about the selection/buff placement. In my opinion it's hero dependant.

Example: Pudge is cursed and uses Meat Hook lvl 4 (140 Manacost); The caster is "X" and casts "Curse of Energy" lvl 4

Pudge uses the spell (Mana -140) --> curse triggers --> Mana of X = +84 (60% of Hook mana cost) --> mana of Pudge = -21

Concluded: Pudge pays 161 mana for this hook and X regenerates 84 mana


I think its a very nice Idea for leshrac, or a kind of hero what uses masses of mana. Especially for Leshrac beacause in teamfights it would be a great synergy for his other spells.

This is just a concept. Im not sure about balanced values.

I would be happy about some icon suggestions.

seems you really like leshrac,.. yep ??.. ^_^ but it's also cool for the heroes who has a small amount of mana points .. maybe this will be inserted to heroes like,.. yes..., leshrac too ^_^ but maybe fitted on the other heroes too or just make a new hero cause this ability is really unique ------ TUp !!

This ability concept has nothing to do with curse, since it does nothing to target of it.

i should add a small negative effect. just a small becuase the positive one is good enough i think.

i didnt say i want to have this on leshrac but its imo the best usage atm because of the extreme high mana usage. lesh ist one of my favos btw
yesterday i randomed him and thpught how annoying it is with the ults manacost. later i got the idea.

I think there are just to many heroes who benefit from this ability so why not just make it an item based? May be the aura would do better in such case(since it's not scaling)

If you cast this on zeus, in 20 seconds he uses like about 12+ skills. you steal a lot of mana!! also a counter for harbringer, wow! to long dduriation if buff

Too much mana, this would totaly make casters useless when you have it against them.
I mean 80%, thats seriously a lot of mana. Twist the numbers a bit more maybe.
for now t-null, since i like the concept

I got another idea. It could be a link like razors static link, just with the effect of mana drain. Please tell me what idea you like most. There are so many options. =/
Also i would be happy about a good icon suggestion.

it is interesting, i could imagine using this on a low mana hero who is about to engage a high mana hero, the looses mana part would be rarely felt by the enemy but you get real boost from this.
